Supercharger upgrade for 2015 and 2016 cars - Parts needed and availability?
Are the parts available to upgrade the 15 and 16 cars? I'm thinking I saw some bought the new cover, however, I'm thinking other components are needed to fully upgrade. Am I correct in assuming it'll take:
1. Supercharger cover;
2. Manifold/housing for supercharge and bricks to allow for the repositioned bricks;
3. Hood liner to provide needed clearance;
4. Internal manifold/housing parts and pieces to secure bricks. Not sure if existing hardware can be used or if different components are needed.
If this is an incomplete list or incorrect please correct me.
Does anybody have part numbers to buy all that's needed.
FWIW, I'm aware a full kit is to be made available but not released yet.
TIA
Rick

Here's some images to compare:
On the 2017 SC, the rear of each intercooler is lifted, angling, and leaving a "pocket" in the valley underneath:

...this is the only upgrade you really need
Seriously though, if we can help, please drop a note: info@callawaycars.com
Thanks!

Chris, nothing to do with the question asked.
I think we're all aware of what you've developed and are selling for $18,000 which includes floor mats, key fob, emblems. console plaque, build plaque and sill package in addition to a larger supercharger.....
Now the discussion is going to go on the pros and cons of your system.
Thanks a lot for the sales pitch.

Not yet. GM just released a 100 octane tune yesterday. They are supposed to come out with a parts exchange program for 15/16 with the parts you mentioned but has not been released yet

From Tadge: "We are putting together plans for kits that would enable prior year owners to update their cars. More to follow on that. But, just to reiterate, those kits will do absolutely nothing for customers who drive their cars on the street. There is no horsepower change or other performance improvement."
He also mentions the additional cooler: "In addition, for manual transmissions, we have adapted the horizontal, “lay down” cooler...." and "The extra cooler, plumbed in series with the radiator, as shown the diagram below, lowers coolant temperatures about 18 degrees Fahrenheit...."
So I assume that much of what you said is likely true, but the actual implementation and cost has not been revealed. (at least I have not heard it yet)

Other than the video we have seen of Tadge talking about it, here is the only other "official" word I have seen:

I haven't heard anything yet. He can buy a secondary radiator now if he has an M7. The SC parts were available through WXM if I recall. However a true GM kit provided via GM hasn't been announced or released. A program to help us owners out hasn't been delineated either.

Yeah, my friend who wants to upgrade is Mike Levitas, pro driver who owns TPC Racing. He has a M7 1LZ and is a Daytona 24 hour race winner. In other words, he's fast.
I mention this as he's tracked his stock car half the summer in the hot heat of the east coast and never experienced an overheating issue. The car got hotter than he cared for, although never went into limp mode so he added the secondary radiator. He said that alone got the temps down about 25 degrees and he's happy with that. I run within a couple seconds of Mike and have never had a heat issue and I don't have the secondary radiator.

The secondary radiator also speeds temp recovery significantly. One cool down lap would drop oil temps 60F.

Say Hi to Mike for me. I still love the shocks and controller.
As others have said, the lid is available but the issue appears to be this. We know the intercooler bricks are now tilted in the manifold. The part number for the 2017 bricks are different so likely you need to buy the new bricks.
Then it's likely that the coolant pipes in the SC housing from the old SC won't line up with the new bricks. There was at least one mention of a conversation with a GM engineer at Carlisle that mentioned having to drill and tap to install the new parts.
So how GM is going to handle this swap is still unknown and if I to guess GM doesn't even know yet. My *guess* is that it'll be an entire SC swap where they take the old one back for retrofitting.
Ben @ WeaponX is probably the most knowledgeable person about this retrofit outside of GM at the moment.

Tadge mentioned a hardware take off and turnover program in the Carlisle video. I'm still guessing that the 2015 and 2016 owners are looking at an expensive swap. The secondary radiator alone is $800.

I have a 2016 C7 Z06 and am waiting on information on the cooling upgrades for the 2015 and 2016 models
It is interesting that there has not been a definitive explanation or pictures of the changes to the supercharger internal heat exchangers (bricks) from GM. 2017 LT4's are being produced and 2017 C7 Z06's are shipping from the factory but info it still unavailable.
I emailed Harlan Charles and this is the reply I received:
"There are no changes to the heat exchangers

I guess we need a forum member who has received delivery of their 2017 Z06 to remove the supercharger cover and post a picture to figure this out.

Maybe semantics at play? Heat exchangers, intercoolers, radiators. They didn't change the heat exchanger/radiator up front in the grill.

"For the 2017 Z06 we have modified the intercooler geometry quite substantially to allow improved cooling of the intake charge to all cylinders in the LT4."
So maybe you can ask him for details on how they modified the intercooler geometry?
That's really my big complaint about Tadge's response to the "Ask Tadge" - we didn't get any more details than we already knew from Carlisle. I was hoping for specifics on the changes under the SC cover.

Callaway might sell you a complete 2017 supercharger for less than you can buy the needed parts from GM. Just make sure you ask them specifically for a 2017 unit. As they build 2017 Callaway Z06's, they will have left over 1.74L GM superchargers that they removed.
