Motor Trend sucks
Motor Trend's November's issue features an article entitled, "America's Ultimate Performance Showdown. Pictures of the 12 cars are even featured on the cover. My problem is, no Corvettes made the 12, not even the Z06. Are you kidding me!
They included the Camero SS, really the Camero SS is a higher performance car over the Z06, BS.
I think not!

This does not bother me. These mags have to constantly churn these types of stories to have any content and the Vette can't show up for all of 'em. They might be leaving it out just so a different car can win. Or maybe they could not get a Vette during the time of the test. Who knows?

Motor Trend??? lol
I used to read all 3 -- MT, C&D and R&T.
These days, C&D and MT are really lame with lots of hipster-view crap.
ROAD&TRACK had lost its way a few years back, but managed to really turn itself around, and is again pretty good, with decent stories and great photography. It is the only auto mag I still subscribe to & read.
C&D is always offering me $6/year subscriptions, only 50 cents/issue(!), but honestly, its not even worth THAT.

PS. I have nothing to do with Motor Trend.
We had too many cars this year so unfortunately we had to institute a one car per manufacturer rule. That meant the Corvette Grand Sport, Camaro V6 1LE, Fiata, BMW M2, and Focus RS all got cut. Don't worry, we're planning a junior BDC with the cut cars in the coming months.
Even in the most competitive Best Driver’s Car field yet, we can’t help but look forward to a few dream cars for next year. We can always hope.

Checked my magazine pile and found C&D, R&T, Apex Automotive Magazine, Hemmings Muscle Machines, Classic Cars, Motor News but ahh, no MT. Probably have every one but. Never cared for their version of "a trend."

As I understand the process, they only choose from cars that are new or significantly changed for the particular model year. There were no major changes to the Corvette line for 2016, therefor, no Corvette in the mix.
The Grand Sport is a 2017 model, and they mention looking forward to testing it next year along with a number of other high end exotics.
I don't understand all the hatred I see for the Camaro on this board. I actually think it's a pretty cool car and am glad to see some American iron place so high up in the standings. I'm sure the Grand Sport will place high next year.

Good to see GM do well in these competitions.

They never liked the c7 z06, they've had nothing but problems with it from day one and they all seam to agree its handling is off. Thats why it didnt make the cut. I garentee you the grand sport will be in the group next year, or if the 17' z06 has the same handling revisions as the grand sport, it will probably be there.

I gave up my subscriptions to those rags (MT, RT, CD) years ago. If I'm in an airport or waiting room with nothing to do, I'll read one. I liken them to the World Wrestling Federation. Lots of entertainment but don't take it seriously.

Make that two. The C7 Z06 at GTR head-to-head had improper alignment. The other one at best driver's car had air in intercooler; it was down so much HP with the intercooler pump not running (which it does so when it detects air). The frustration is understandable.

Although they are in love with the grand sport, unfortunately all of their footage of the gs as of yet is on the on demand website, $4.99 a month. they have 3 video's of the gs so far, in all of em they are in love with it.
