What are you talking about??? The video is of a grandsport and a 911. No z06.
Although for the price of that ugly smurf pos you can get a 17' fully loaded z06 and murder the living **** out of the 911 in every aspect of performance.
Only reason the 911 has such a fast 1/4 mile is because the rear engine is good for launching and the double clutch tranny. It woulda been a lot closer if the 911 was manual.

As far as I'm concerned, this right here:
"The Corvette, in contrast, is skydiving with your chute on fire. It’s passionate driving, the car demanding your full attention but delivering an adrenaline rush you will tell your grandkids about someday."
Corvette wins for me.

Very impressive beat down of the Great Z pretender. Porsche will always get knocked on this forum for its looks and cost but in the sportscar world it is well respected.

The best track car would be to take the $40K savings and that GS with some CF wheels and a 427 NA engine.

Porsche seems to be the apex of sports cars. Obviously they are doing something right. I've not read many comparison articles where the Porsche was not picked as number 1 even though it may not finish 1st in every category (and often times doesn't finish 1st in any category in the comparison) but still garners 1st place in the article.
Not to take anything away from the Corvette. Great car, (hell I own one too). But the Porsche seems to get just about everything right, producing great performance w/ less.
I'd love to have one, but the price to play just isn't in the stars for me. The Corvette is probably right at my comfort limit as I'm concerned where I park it and tend to worry about when it's out of sight. If I had a $100K Porsche, I'd have to hire a security detail to watch it.
Maybe in my next life when I'm a six figure + Urologist and have more disposable income, I'll be driving one. (Incidentally my Urologist and Dentist both drive Porsche Carreras). (Although a Cayman is still a possibility)

Well, the Porsche fanbois think the C7 is a 'Seiko' compared to the 911 being a 'Tag'.
Tag's are actually a poor-man's Rolex. LOL.
They're whining about the Cup tires, and chiding the build quality of the C7.
I also love the comments about the 'feel' of driving a 911. What does that mean exactly? Is a device massaging the driver's prostrate for God's sake?
When I go to the track, I talk with drivers of all cars, and all are gracious and respectful, regardless of whether they are driving real high-dollar cars like Lambos, and Ferarris; they are true car lovers. Even the Viper owners are nice (saw a beautiful new ACR at VIR last month).
For the price of the as-tested 911, you could buy a new Z06 and a Z51!
The C7 haters on MT forums are probably pugnacious wanna-be's or douche-nozzles that valet at the country club and are more concerned about image and 'prestige'. Funny thing is, in affluent areas, 911's are as common as Civics...

Although for the price of that ugly smurf pos you can get a 17' fully loaded z06 and murder the living **** out of the 911 in every aspect of performance.
so you are saying it will take 650hp vette to beat a 420hp Carrera S.
brilliant statement, you must be a physics major

And if you really think the 911 is putting out only 420 HP, I've got some oceanfront property for you...

Nevermind what a grand sport with 700hp all motor would do.

Previous Porsche owner and current C7Z owner and I have to admit, I was blown away by the 3.1s 0-60 and qtr mi times in this article. Yes I know it was DCT...but not AWD and the car weighs 3350lbs with 420hp. That's 'awefully' quick given those weight/power figures. I can't think of another car with those specs that even comes close. Heck the 430 Scuderia with 490hp barely matches that, same for the 458. Even the 500hp GT3RS was 3.0 or 3.1, with DCT. Even the A8 in the GS would not come close to that. And the 0-100mph time of 7.9 is silly quick. Something just doesn't seem right...3350lbs with only 420hp...WOW!
I love Porsche's...always have...The C7Z is my first Vette. The 2 main reasons: They finally upgraded the Vette interior AND it's SOOOOO much more fun to drive. You need a GT3 to even come close to the enjoyment I get from my Z06. That's coming from a long time Porsche and Ferrari guy. Never thought those words would come from my mouth, lol...Having said that, it's hard to say anything negative about a Porsche...they are so solid.

GS vs. 911 Motor Trend Review
GS does well against the much more expensive 911.
