Those things are no joke.
Got into it with a white C6 Camaro on the highway. I won but it wasn't pretty. Had to targa top down too so that didn't help.
Little ridiculous how capable those things are compared to the C7 Vette. Especially for the price. Little disturbed how close GM made the performance of the SS Camaro to the Corvette. With the 1LE coming out, it'll be darn close...
One thing we have is looks. No ones looks twice at a stock Camaro...

Why spend so much time comparing the Camaro to the Corvette and complaining that GM built so much performance into both.
Has everyone forgotten that Camaro competes with Mustang? Do you really want to see Ford beat the crap out of Chevrolet just to protect the ego of Corvette buyers? I am glad the Camaro is as potent as they have made it.
The Corvette remains king of the GM stable. Camaro does not turn heads like Corvette. Camaro drivers do not wave at one another.

You don't know what mods he may have done if any. Cam with a tune, exhaust, maybe heads he could have been pushing quite a bit of HP.
Also unless things have changed in the Camaro world since I got rid of mine they usually refer to them as 4 Gen, 5 Gen, 6 Gen.

Corvette is suppose to be the Flag Ship sports car certainly for Chevy so go figure. I think you can get 455HP on 2016 Camaro's and even 650HP is to be available on 2017 cars. Camaro is cheaper, smaller and I think some lighter than Corvette. Don't know what you were up against but with that kind of potential power the Camaro is a rocket and going to hold it's own with anything on the road assuming the driver can keep it on the road. Corvette is more refined and the way better car IMO. Even so, the non-Z06 Corvette C7 screams for a power boost. Be safe!

I own one. It's a fantastic fast balanced car. MN6, NPP, and mag ride. I prefer it way over any of my C6s. And I beg to differ that no one looks twice at it. For a daily, its simply killer.

Makes a pretty convertible too!

And to everyone else's point, I just think GM should have put a little more distance between the maro and the vette in terms of power and performance. Just my opinion. The looks of the vette kill though.

I think most of the Camaro guys just call it "6th Gen", like this forum: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=155
But yeah, my wife has a Gen6 Camaro 2SS with the LT1 and it seriously rocks. Basically a Stingray with a different body style and a higher center of gravity, so the handling isn't as good.

The 6th Gen Camaro is a completely different animal than the previous gen Camaro. 390 pounds lighter than the previous gen and shares the Cadillac ATS/CTS platform. The SS uses the Corvette LT1 engine, a 6 speed manual with Rev match 4 driving modes and has available Mag ride and NPP exhaust. For someone who can't swing the expense of a Corvette...it is a great alternative.
