Default Stage One of Detail

Going to a Corvette and Chevy show this weekend so I am starting to get the car eady. Today was a bath, followed by a clay bar treatment. Then step one paint correction followed by a finish polish. Tomorrow I will complete it with a coat of glaze followed by a good coat od a paste wax. Of course thsi only takes care of teh body. I finished the engine bay prior to the clay bar. Interior will be the last step.

Here are a few pictures of the progress so far.

No. Actually when I bought the car a few years back, it had the wide body kit and the black chrome wheels with the Z51 badges. It is a Z51 optioned car, but I was a little concerned with trying to remove them after all the years they had been on in the Florida climate so I did not want to take any chances with paint issues, so I just never took them off.

Going to Stingray on Saturday? I am going to try to get out there...work may dictate an early departure though.

Nothing like high white puffy clouds for taking car pics, show off the reflections great.
Good luck
NSF PS Hey jeffjob, did you paint the barrels silver then clear coat ??
That's what I'm thinking of doing so that dust wipes off better, mine is flat now and I have to actually wash them to clean so I was hoping to be able to just wipe them down, be easier

Car looks great, and the additional photos posted should give you an idea of how much attention to detail matters............ once completed, they are a lot easier to maintain and keep them that way

This is not my first rodeo: I was only posting a few of the partial body detail. Here are a few more of what I do when getting it ready.

Dont forget the rear latch hinges and the trim on both sides. I also might add the front seam of the front doors . Do this last as you have to drive it there. Make sure you do your sunvisors and inside the glove box. Juat a few tips I didnt see posted. Ive got 15 firsts,5 seconds and three best in divisions. Never got a best in show but I keep trying. Your car and procedure seems excellent.....good luck

My goodness that car is crazy clean, I can honestly say I don't think my car has everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr been that clean lol. It looks like it could sit on a surgical ward.

My question is how do you keep the undercarriage clean getting the car to the show? Surely you don't trailer it?
