Novistretch Mod-For Grand Sport
Apparently, Novistretch will not be coming out with a model for the front camera equipped GS. With Novistretch bra, looking through the front cameras was like looking through a foggy mesh....
So, with my very limited seamstress abilities, I modified one!
I marked out the placement of the front cameras, sewed a shoe lace around the circle, cut out the novistretch material, folded it over the shoe lace and sewed again... and it seems to work!
I've driven the bra over 300 miles and all seems well...it doesn't billow or move around...and now I can use my front cameras again.
Please no flames about my sewing ability! If you can do better, go for it!

NICE work
Did you sew it by hand, or with a machine? I too thought of doing something similar, but with smaller holes. What size hole did it end up at?
I'm a little confused about your process.... sewed the shoe lace to the diameter you wanted, then cut out the inner circle, THEN DID YOU fold the material over itself and re sew it again?
I assume you did all of this OFF of the car, correct?

Sewed by hand....Sewed the lace to the size hole I outlined with a fabric marker when the bra was on the car...a bit larger on the downside due to the cameras facing down...
Removed the bra....
Then sewed the lace around the fabric mark...on the inside of the bra....by hand. Cut out the hole...folded the excess inside around the lace....sewed again...removed the excess and reinstalled on the car...
Sorry...maybe I should have taken pictures along the way...but I didn't want to document possible failure!....
If you have better sewing abilities than I, the end result will be better. This mod, however, suits my needs as I only use the bra from longer drives....
Good luck....

N2TU,
GREAT !!!! Got it. Just as I pictured. Glad you reminded me of this little project.
Thanks again.

N2TU,
So after nearly a year, are you still happy with the results? Would you have done anything different..... such as different size hole, location, etc???
I forgot to do this cool mod, and am now leaving on a road trip. Wish I had done it sooner. Will have a coupe of weeks to complete it while gone, and then heading home.
Thought I would ask, before I make the cut, and sew !!!
Did you consider just cutting it with a hot knife, such as a soldering type tool? I have one, that I've used on cutting / burning the edge of tarps for boat covers, and it worked great. Didn't know if this might work.
thanks,
Richard

Richard,
It looks as good today as when I did it last year! I would recommend doing the 'mod'.
Cutting with a sharp knife/ soldering iron might work. I just never thought of it!
Good luck!

OK,
So I drove down to our vacation lake home with the bra on. Marked the center of the camera's, then outlined a 2" diameter circle using "white out" ink. Removed the bra.
Now I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver an embroidery hoop and black athletic shoe laces so I can start my project.
I thought it would be a good idea to have the material stretched at the same amount as it is on the car, using he embroidery hoop, when doing the sewing and cutting. I think I WILL also try using my "hot knife" tool to see if it cuts and melts the material so it won't unravel ..... If so, there may not be the need to sew in the shoe lace.
I'll post my results next week, after I get my stuff to do the job.
