Z06's at Shift Sector 1/2 mile
This weekend I saw a few Z06s at the 1/2 mile event in Coalinga.
Of the 4 that ran and logged times they're trap speed was
147, 156, 165, and 165. The two 165s were 15 and 16 model/year cars.
I didn't gather the differences from these cars, I will next time.
Does anybody know what a stock C7 Z06 will run in the 1/2 mile? Approximately?
And how much power would it take to get a C7 Z06 to 185/190?

We sponsored the event (for BMW purposes) and I had one of my employees Payam race my 100% stock 2016 A8 Z06 for kicks. It was on a 91 octane / 100 octane mix so around 96 octane.
To be candid the Z06 was pretty disappointing although it was hot out. Best of 148mph I think in the 1/2 mile. Here is a video of it beating our 2016 BMW 340i (it ran 143mph this run but 146mph later in the day with more boost). Payam took videos of most of his runs and we have some good ones. I'll add them to this thread later. For comparison though our M3 @ 650whp ran 162mph, M5 @ 750whp ran 160mph, and 135i @ 675whp ran 167mph (starting from a roll). One of our customers with a 800whp M5 that has some weight reduction ran 172mph. To get the Z06 up in to the 180s probably is going to take a larger aftermarket supercharger.

I was the red z06, redhulk, my car makes 670rwhp and 735rwtq, my best time was the 156mph... My issue was i have stock tires and coulnt hook up,so im guesing with good tires i can hit 165mph..to hit 185 or more you will need at least 1200rwhp and full slicks, guys out there with other cars making 1000rwhp were hitting any were from 145- 180, its all about putting the power to the ground, if it doesnt hook it doesnt help..im personally changing my tire set up!

I doubt the two Z06's running 165 MPH were stock, on stock tires.
For a comparison of similar cars with 638 HP with a M6, 100% stock on stock Michelin PS2's(not cup2 tires), running in different 1/2 mile events.
1)Chicago 6-14-14, 80*
2010 ZR1 ran 157.1229.
2)Shift-S3ctor Airstrip Attack 4-19-14 85*
2009 ZR1 ran 154.4 MPH on NT05Rs(not PS2's)
3)Ellington Field Airstrip 93* 2000+ DA 5-16-15
2009 ZR1 with Michelin PS2's(not Cup2 tires) ran 154.2 MPH
4) Texas Mile, Beeville, TX, @1/2 mile, 62* 10-28-12
2009 ZR1 stock on PS2's ran 153.4 MPH
5) Texas Mile, Beeville, TX, @1/2 mile, 52* 10-27-12
2013 ZR1 stock on PS2's ran 153.6 MPH.
6)Battlecreek, 75* 7-15-15
2010 ZR1 100% stock on Michelin SuperSport tires ran 150.3 MPH with Debra Lowe(owner) driving. That's her car in 1) that ran 157.1229 with another driver, on a different track, on a different date.

The Grey Z06 that did 165 was very modded and he was still warming up to the car. It was running quite well. I think he said low 700 to the wheels.
I have seen a few ZR1's not break 150 there but I attribute that to driver. I have trapped 153-157 depending on the day and air quality from a dig in my ZR at coalinga.
I would think you would need close to or just over 1,000hp and good air to trap 185-190.
It seems 800-850 gets you high 170 to low 180mph traps at coalinga.

Thx...
I had fun.
Brought my GTR but ethanol% was low so I could only squeeze 168 out of it....Next time I'm bringing e98.
I'm just tired of looking at my GTR....looks like a brick with wheels.
So I was looking for another car....thought maybe a Z06.
Lots of cool cars though....
Like the AWD Mitsu Galant.....did 169 on a 4cylinder with 38lbs of boost.
Or the 69 Camaro twin turbo LS4?? did 192.....

The GTR has a .26 Cd and the C7 Z06 has a (stated by Tadge on a video) .35 Cd to .37 Cd.
The C6 base has a .286 Cd and the C6 Z06 has a .34 Cd and the C6 ZR1 has a .35 Cd.

The Z driver started in the wrong gear. But yes those JB4's are super fast. Reminds me when I used to race that guy from S Florida, I think his screen name was SFgator or something like that. I had my 335 with the first jb beta in S Florida and he had exed or Procede something like that made by Shiv. Good times.

Only the procharged z 06s trap low 180s right now.. AMP performance with their f1r car.. and I believe vengance did with the lt4 white monster car and with a massive shot of dope.. like a 300 hit..

I think this is the AMP car...
182=Z06+1100hp with Procharger + C16
I think its an auto.
Vengeance also has the recipe.
1100 with Procharger + C16
Promo vdo not a race
I wonder how much this costs?
Vengeance seems to have a lot of experience with 1/2 mile builds.
They have a NA C5 that did 179. Wonder if it still has AC.

I'm ready for a procharger set up with e85.. I'm at 680 rwhp and putting a procharger and e85 next year.. I am looking at 30k so far.. my build will basically be the vengance build minus the akra exhaust.. the vengance car is sick.. it probably has 60k plus in mods.. I believe it is for sale..

Here's my Z (Halltech only) with my bro as a passenger (200lb weight disadvantage) running 154.005mph on stock tires. DA was 1800+ into a headwind. I had a 156mph run last year minus the "dead weight" 😬

For starters, let me first say, to keep this post in the C7 Z06 mode, that I'm very much looking forward to bringing my 2017 Z06 out to Shift-Sector on their next CA event! I will do light bolt ons, and remove part of the rear spoiler for the event. I will be picking up my new Z later this week, just in time to drive to Sema!!
I was out for the event this past Saturday, it was pretty hot, DA was not good. Here is one of my better passes on my supercharged C5, I seemed to have more trouble with traction this time out.

I was supposed to be there this past Sunday, but Uncle Sam called my name. Sucks to miss the event, but next April I'll be running new mods!!! More speed!!!

There was another C5Z did 187. I didn't see it but that's what the log says.
Could take a while to get the new Z to 170.
Omega has an event in Nov in Shafter if you need to break the new Z in.

I recently removed it for a couple days after running it for a year and boy, I forgot how much it improved the car.
Thanks Terry!

This isn't from the Shift Sector event, but I ran mine with WannaGoFast in May and was able to squeak out a 151, each time in 4 attempts with a Halltech intake and Corsa X pipe. I was running Stage 3 aero, with the rear wing in the highest position as well.
