Default OnStar remote start question

I have the App on my phone that lets me start the car, but you need the FOB to get it to move. So if I am a hundred miles away and I want to let someone use the car without them having the FOB in hand is it possible ? If not this doesnt seem to be much of a option. The same if I lock myself out with the FOB in the car, can I unlock the car ?
Thanks Deano

No. you need the key fob to keep the car running or it shuts off in 10 minutes or when the brake is pressed.

If you lock the fob in the car the phone app will unlock it.

This is a security feature.

Remote Start was never intended to be used in the way you are suggesting, so I'm not sure why you think its "not much of an option" if you can't let someone else drive it away without the fob.

If you want someone else to drive it, give them a fob...
