Default Found the perfect Z06, but Comp Seats are a issue

Greetings,
I was almost going to buy a Z06 last night but didn't buy it because of the competition seats. Is there anywhere I can replace one of my comp seats with regular seats? And then when I am ready to sell the car in the future I can put the comp seats back in? I am willing to spend a few extra dollars for a comfortable seat

Have you sat in both? You might be surprised. I'm not certain that the GT seats are any bigger or more accommodating. I drove the Comp seats at Spring Mountain and never once noticed them, and I came from a GT car. Granted I'm not that big (6' 2" maybe 210lbs) but I was surprised that they were reasonably accommodating.

If you've already sat in it and it doesn't work, don't buy a car you can't use of course! But at least give it a try, you never know.

The bottom parts of both of the seats felt similar to me, however the comp seats had narrow bolsters. I am a wide fat dude, which is why I am having an issue. The bolsters were so hard they were hurting my back real bad But that was the best deal I could find, I am looking for a 3LZ A8

i've driven both for an extended period of time and can tell you at 200 lbs and 5'09" the Comp seats are not as comfortable as the GT seats. the Comp seats are more supportive and would be my choice if i tracked my car which i don't. So i see where you're coming from OP..

find another car. there are plenty

I sat in a car with the GT seats the weekend before last and didn't notice any difference between the comp seat bolsters and the GT seat bolsters. As far as my eyes could discern they looked the same size. Make sure the bolsters in the comp seats aren't inflated to make them tighter.

You can easily trade someone as mentioned above. Getting them back would be difficult. Alternatively, some people have made the switch from GT to Comp seat backs with a kit from a vendor like Subchev, you could do it in reverse with free or next to free parts from the classifieds.

Me too. I bought a 15 Z06 that had the comp seats and didn't get them in my 16 right after I sold my 15. They just aren't for heavier people.

I was not aware, I tried to adjust the back bolsters but didn't find a way. Is it adjustable? Im so fat that I sometimes find it uncomfrotable sitting in my new s550. Im 275 pounds, but the problem is im wide

The back bolsters on the Comp seat are adjusted using the square button on the bottom. The button adjusts the lumbar support when pressed forwards and backwards. It also adjusts the side bolster when pressed up or down. You will want to press the button down to relax the bolsters.

I just picked up a slightly used Z06 with the Z07 package with the Competition seats last Thursday and then drove 1700 miles in 2.5 days to get home. The longest day was 860 miles and I only got out when I was filling up the car. Somewhere between 260 - 320 miles. Very comfortable ride - for me.

Congrats, what color? I am looking at a red one, I never thought I would buy a red one but the C7 Z06 is a mean mean machine with the red.

I have a 2016 Z06 3LZ with red seats, I would be interested in a trade depending on where you live, we could meet up and do a quick swap out. My car only has 800 miles on it.

The seat frames are identical between the romp and GT seats. The difference is the 30% greater density of the foam and the more aggressive seat back bolsters in the comp seat. The seat bottoms are the same shape except for the foam density and the seat cover pattern. The main difference is the comp seats backs have a deeper bolster that would definitely put the squeeze on a fluffy person. The good news is that the seat back foam and cover can be changed from the comp to the GT or GT to comp with out replacing the entire seat. Most people convert the GT seat to a comp seat using parts from a supplier like trunk monkey parts. The reverse swap could also be done

For those undecided (like some voters still) on which seat to go to or buy here's my 2 cents after 20k miles of experience. I own a 15, Z07 with GT seats. I could never understand at first why the dealer bone head would not of ordered the comps. My original intention was to rebuild them to comps asap.

After installing a set of quality race harnesses I found that the GT's are more than supportive after many track days and the belt pass thru is just large enough. Any instructor in the car usually comments on how comfortable and supportive too. After 4 track days and about 5k street miles I decided I have the best of both worlds now!

I have a friend with the comps and driven his Z. Frankly I am so happy I don't have those race inspired seats. Especially after just returning from a 3,500 mile trip. Never felt like I had to stop to get out and move, these seats are fantastic! I'm 5.10, 200 lbs. If your car is a DD I will never understand other than the cool looks why anyone would want the comps.

I have thanked my bone head dealer since
