Coker Tires
Hi, I purchase a set (4) 205 75 R15 tires from Coker Tires and had nothing but problems with them out of round, I am on my 2nd set and the new ones are also out of round. I can not find other wide white walls, any suggestions ?

I bought a set of Firestone bias 560 15 tires for the front of my Gasser.
Took a little more weight then I anticipated to balance them.
A few weeks ago before a show I used a PIA tire dressing to make them look better. Had the tires at chest height on the lift and I notices an area in the tread about 5 or 6 inches long that was filled in with rubber, no wonder they needed a lot of balance weights.
Both tires had the same defect.
JUNK.....

What brand are they? I did the same size in a narrow 1 inch WW branded as American Classic. I have heard they are made by or under license from Coker. All I can say is avoid American Classics. Of the four I bought, one was difficult to balance and all four had a lot of casting "flash. I am looking around now for something with more quality, too. Maybe go with black sidewall.

Another vote for the Diamondback Michelin. I love mine!

I read this about Coker's on the forum all the time. Just for balance, I had a set of Coker redlines on my 65 that were 14 years old, still in balance and still rode and looked very nice. I just put a set of wide whitewalls on my 60 and they also look and ride very nice. This is my third set of Cokers and have never had one issue.

Donny,
I'm calling your wife, daughter and sister QUEENS,you are another matter! Mike is a KING.
Just try to turn that monster car of yours and watch the sidewall rollover but then again the wheel/tire on your car is always straight ahead.

I'm actually surprised Coker still sells radial tires for these size cars. They get so much bad publicity of the problems people get, you'd think they'd stick to antique vehicle bias plys that they've made for years. Most pre 40s restored cars are using them with good success.
Stick to what you do well.
