A&A 8rib rzr cut 2.70 pulley or 10rib kit
Just got off the phone with josh he was telling me about the new "to me" 2.70 rzr cut 8 rib pulleys and said he has been selling alot of them and save myself money and do it over 10rib kit. C6 z06 8 rib set up, secondary drive ysi blower kit is my set up currently.
Looking for any experience with the new 8rib 2.70 rzr cut pulleys. Or should I just go to the 10rib kit and call it done? I would just like to hear from some actual people running the new pulley set ups. As I weigh my decision on which way to go.

You can also have the pulley carbinite coated. If I was spinning the blower hard enough to be on the grip edge, I'd be trying one of those two options before going 10 rib.

A pulley takes <10 minutes to swap and is ~$110. What do you have to lose? Try it and worse case you lost 20 minutes, and you sell it for $80 and are out $30.
I'm all about going overboard, so I run the 2.70" cut 10 rib, zero issues. If you are starting from scratch I say go 10 rib, but if you already have an 8 rib setup, try it out and see.

I found a semi local place that does the 180 grit coating for $99 plus shipping I have never heard of this before and looked it up. 2 day turn around. This could be a awesome option!! thank you man. have a pulley for under 300 bucks completed. 10 rib kit is 1200+belt+ shipping.

car sees less then 1000 miles a summer here in ohio. I maybe got 500 in this yr with the other toys. a 45 dollar belt isn't much if the coating does what its suppose to and pulls more boost for about everyone I read a review for. its give or take I guess. wont really know until I try it I guess. every review I have read seemed like it worked for them. from mustang, to ls, to srt set ups. find out in a couple weeks how it works.

if going from stock and don't already have 8 rib then may as well go with 10 rib since not much more.
I run a cut blower pulley on my setup (no coating) and if you don't have alignment just right it will kill the belts but once you get alignment proper with laser tool i have no issues with belts lasting a long time (so far). just don't let it bang on the rev limiter or you will probably snap or damage the belt.

my current set up is a 8rib, secondary drive a&a ysi 3.125 razr cut pulley making 15psi.
I tried a regular smooth 2.75 vortech pulley and upper sweep it made max 15psi from slip.
I guess I am left with 2 options, I already purchased the new 2.70 razr cut 8 rib from A&A and it is shipped (being dropped shipped to carbonite racing for the coating Thursday delivery per tracking #)
I could just send carbonite my regular smooth vortech 2.75 pulley and have it coated since I prepaid for the coating already. and try both a smooth pulley with carbonite, then just the regular razr cut 2.70 pulley.
I spoke with carbonite racing in a lengthy phone call, they have done a lot of razr cut pulleys he has said. but when I search I don't find much feedback on the carbonite coating other then a couple on regular pulleys.
my overall thought was with both razr cut and carbonite coating would help eliminate any possible slip, but my luck nothing will work like it should. everyone seems against the idea. I should have just went 10rib and called it done. lol

If you already have the 8 rib, no way would I go 10 if you have other possible options. Between the time and effort swapping the main drive pulley and the price, it's worth giving this a shot.

The worst thing you'll do is waste a couple hundred dollars at most. We've all done that on way more stupid things.

comparing the razor and the smooth carbonite would be a great experiment. please keep us posted if you do.
