Z06 with LS2 being sold at a dealer in NJ????
I could be mistaken, there have been a few people swapping LS3 heads on the C6Z's.
No dry sump? No oil lines going to the EOC on the radiator shroud.

Looks like someone pulled a fast one on that car lot and they don't even know. Probably blew the LS7 and just threw a LS2 in it and traded it.

Not a bad scam! could be done cleanly, ECU reprogrammed for the LS2/3, traded in at the local lot and no one would know. Or hell, even at the chevy dealer. No offense intended, but the typical dealership used car tech ISN'T the superstar of the operation...

If that is truly what is happening, that is fraud and clearly actionable. The LS7 is a significant component of what makes a Z06 a Z06, and is not obvious to an average buyer like wheels, tires, brakes, etc.

when you trade in a vehicle they inspect it at the dealer. most techs definitely wouldn't catch the difference between a ls2 and a ls7. sometimes they don't even pop the hood. once you sign the papers on a new vehicle and sign over your trade, its theirs whether they knew it was a swapped motor or not. there is no law saying you have to disclose that to a dealer

Basically a wide body, big brakes and aluminum frame now, a 20-22k car on a good day

Could very well be, but it could also have been a scenario along the lines of...someone trading it in, admits to dropping in an LS2, and rightfully gets taken to the cleaners on that trade. The dealer immediately flips the (seemingly worthless) car through an auction house, and at that point the car becomes a risk car to the buyer...do your inspections, all sales final, no guarantees or warranties, etc.

People saying fraud assume the guy misreprented it. If I just took that car to carmax, said nothing, and they give an offer and I take it, that isn't fraud. They didn't do their due dilegence. The seller is under no obligation to divulge details. If they didn't ask, or look, and he didn't lie, where is the fraud?
Less extreme example but wouldn't trading a car in with some $600 used cheapo tires instead of $2000+ michelins be similar? That isn't what the car came with, they don't perform as well, but as long as you aren't saying it has new OEM tires, its up to the buyer to pick that stuff out.

Also note that the ad says Magnetic Selective Ride and that was not available in the 2007 Model year.

Why does anyone think that a used car has to be all OEM or unmodified? Do people complain about wheels? Exhaust? Headers?
This is just a shitty modification that makes the car less valuable.

Agreed, but that doesn't mean the person who sold it or traded it in did anything wrong.
