Tires Tires Tires for our C6
On our 2008 the stock tires have been 245-40R-18 on the front and 285-35R-19 on the rear. Looking into the Bridgestone Potenza SO-4 Pole Position. Thinking about going with 265-35-18 on the front and 305-30-19 on the rear. Seems like a popular combination. Any concerns about the tire or size change...this is a base 2008 coupe with no mods. Thanks for your input and suggestions.

I have potenza s04 pole position tires. Beeeeeeefy tires. I have aftermarket wheels 255 front and 295 rear. Or just half an inch wider on both sides. I have 255 tire on the front and 305 on the rear. There is a 255 so get that one instead of a 265 for the front. Unless you have mudflaps, your going to have pretty dirty rear fenders dowh low especially on the front. Best tire ever, grips is great better than myhankook ventus v12 and i mean a looootttttt better. Second to none against the pilot super sports. They also look bad ***.

The Cray spider wheels offsets you have for the C6 stick out an extra 1/2" up front and 5/8" in the rear plus 10mm more for the tire sizes.

Thanks to everyone and the pics. I got some nice black aftermarket rims for Florida Speed Shop. The guy I spoke with is named Keith. He seemed very knowledgable about Corvettes and told me the offsets are 56 in the front and 79 in the rear. They do a lot of tire / rim combinations and may times have used the 265/35/18 front and 305/30/19 in the rear with no issues. Jaime, I appreciate your input and pics, the blue is cool. Also, I do have 4 factory OEM mudflaps that I haven't installed yet so I hope this won't be an issue. Thanks again.

One thing that is not opinion is that if the ratio of the tire circumference front to rear doesn't stay close to original, the traction control system will be upset and have problems at higher speeds. On Tire Rack site they give the 'revs per mile' spec...this is the number to compare.

Tom, on stock wheels your tire selection won't stick out like these. On stock wheels you will only stick out an extra 10mm in front and 10mm rear from stock, or just a hair over 3/8". Tires will be a little shorter but nannies will still be happy since the f-r ratio is still close. Also, the shorter tire will not hook as well.
The Cray spider wheels offsets you have for the C6 stick out an extra 1/2" up front and 5/8" in the rear plus 10mm more for the tire sizes.

Now i have grip, look, and beefiness.

I have to assume this is either more as an appearance item or a desire for better cornering ability, since the traction for acceleration and braking will be lessened, due to the sizes.
Just observations I've had for my '08.
I ran a set of S04's and got relatively close to the same mileage as two previous sets of Nitto Invos (all stock sizes). The cornering traction was slightly better initially and faded with wear. The straight line traction started about equal and faded a lot with wear. The wet traction was about identical at any stage of wear.
I'm currently on Michelin RF's, but will return to Invos for the next set.
