Default Headlight Door Hinges

Attempting to replace the headlight door hinges on my 71. I've loosened the 3 hinge bolts on both sides of door. Adjustment hinge spacers loosened. I would think the door would slide to either side to come out if it's sockets. But I can't seem to slide over enough to remove. Am I missing something?

Been a while since I did that on my car, but I think you have to take one bearing per lamp clean out to remove the assembly.

Yep....I figured that also. However in order to get old bearing out I need to move light housing to move or slide to l or r. For either bearing. Just can't seem to move over enough to got to out of its housing socket. Headlight door don't only pivot on bearings. There is a hole behind bearing/hinges that door bracket plugs into. I'll try to get pic tomoro.

Wilcox. Great adjustment info. But video doesn't say how to remove or get old hinge bearing out.

You have to loosen the spacers up.. remove the three bolts from each side and then slide the housing to one side, remove the bearing, then slide it the other way and remove the other bearing.

go to the 4.08 mark.. you'll see the spacer that I'm talking about.. They have a allen head screw and you loosen these up on both sides.. then you can move the door lateral to remove it from the bearing... And... Sometimes the bearings are stuck to the pivot, so you may have to get brutal... just be careful, the housing is pot metal and will break easy.

Finally got bushings in. Very tough, tight nerve wracking job. Had to b extremely carful not to place too much pressure on hinge pin supports. And once I got the pins out the assembly binds to the bucket itself. Also had to tape off body surrounding the light lid itself to prevent scratching. Next I'll use that adjustment video you so kindly provided. Thanks.
