70-72 Red/red--what color is your soft top?
Looking for input from owners who know for certainwhat color the soft top was originally on their original red/red convertible. Looking at a 71 LT-1 with white top (as per tank sticker). Were a majority black from the factory? GM production numbers don't break any of that out.
Thanks!

Mike,
All of the 1970-1972 red/red cars with docs that I've seen have had a white soft top. Most of the red/black cars with docs that I have seen have been white as well. There was a gentleman on this forum with a red/red 1970 LT-1 that had a black top, but I don't know if he had any docs to support that. Technically, you could order a soft top in any color you wanted, but I think it went to the default color most of the time. I'll be interested to hear what you discover!
My old '69 was red/black with a white soft top... Original owner wouldn't take delivery until the dealer put a black soft top on the car.

Stan Falenski

"For certain" might be a stretch. Soft top color was a buyer choice. My guess is that if no other color was specified, you got black.

I know you asked about 70-72 so it may not be of interest to you but my original red/red 73 had a black top. As you know the interior red was darker in '73. Without documentation I would think either would be acceptable.
