Default KBB/Edmunds in the ball park?

Will be looking at a couple vettes this weekend, KBB and Edmunds both show it at around 13k to 13.5K this is for a red coupe 2001, 70k, 6 speed, dual power seats, Bose/CD, auto tint rear view and side mirrors, 2 tops,HUD. all stock owner says its very nice new brakes, just painted calipers and car cover included. Seems the asking price on all the vettes i see are much higher than these sites. I know its just the asking price but am i out of line quoting kbb?

Personally I would check and see what NADA says for the value - I've found them to be a bit more realistic on used car prices.

I noticed their book prices seem a little light sometimes on C5's.

The more realistic price should be in the 15 to 16k.
It is the off season though, so I would not be surprised if some can be found in the 13k range.

when I was looking (2014) I found Edmunds to be the most realistic. I recall that they showed values for a clean trade-in and for a purchase from a dealer. For a private party transaction, I averaged the two. I ended up paying $500 over that because the car was so clean and $500 seemed like a small amount to get hung up over.

NADA has always been more realistic in my opinion

I agree that KBB and Edmunds appear a bit low. When I was looking for my C5 I found most relatively low mileage examples in good condition priced $5-$6,000 above KBB and Edmunds.

NADA and all the corvette mags were much closer to the asking prices in this midwest market.

Nada is what most banks use and has been legit for me in the past. I would say that is a solid price for one. I paid $14,250 for my '01 with 70k 3 years ago in November (start of off season).

If you find one you like, get it. The one you like might be gone, mine almost was.

I've been doing a lot of C5 searching recently and I typically am not finding anything that new for 13 or 14K...most in that price range are '97 - '99s, or if they are '01 and up they have over 100K miles on them...

Yes, agree with you all, under 75k and 6 speed 2001 and up seem to be listed for a minimum of 17k, get to under 50k for mileage and it goes 19k ++.. this is private owner listings. Dealers seem to be all over the place. It does seem that the automatic cars dont sell as fast and are usually about 20% cheaper.

A ridiculous bargain. Not sure what NADA or Edmunds has to say, but golly!
