Would a Corvette c6 coupe be a good choice to buy for a 3rd car
I', 23 and I've driven a Dodge Neon for 2 years, and now I have my eyes on buy a 2006 Chevy Impala SS and have that for couple years, then after that when I save my money up which will probably be in 2 more years I plan on buying a Corvette c6 coupe. After 4 years of driving experience with a Neon and Impala SS with getting no tickets or accidents, do you think I'll be ready for a c6 coupe yet?.

This completely depends on your level of maturity, which you have to determine for yourself and can't be answered in a internet forum. That being said, I bought a brand new 2006 GTO when I was 23. Owned to for 7 years before selling to get a C6, I never had one accident or ticket in those 7 years. So if you question is can a 23yo be responsible enough to own a Corvette? Sure! But so can someone who is 16. Age and maturity are two completely different things.

I am 22 and at 16 I had a 300c (lots of tickets) 18 a 98 c5 corvette (no tickets) 20 a 300c SRT8 (no tickets) and 22 I have a c6 Z06 (no tickets knock on wood). Just buy what you want and be responsible!

Its just a car, like any other car. If you can drive a impala you can drive a vette. As for being a good 3rd car, that is way too broad of a question. That all depends on your socioeconomic needs. No one can answer that besides you. They are fun toys but for a general car I think there are far far far better options.

I personally would not have been mature enough to own this car in my early 20's (not that it was available then).

This response is, well...pretty good advice. Common sense is all you need...and a little cash or credit. Whether or not it's a good 3rd car...only you can determine that.

With that being said to the OP, the corvette is no different than any other RWD performance car. It is not hard to drive it carefully but you have to be responsible.

Corvettes are actually really cheap to insure. Typically lower than a WRX, Scion, Accord, etc. I got my z06 when I was in my mid 20s. It was and still is the cheapest car to insure I've ever owned.

Holy smokes your insurance premiums have had to be crazy since the day you started driving. I could not imagine insuring a corvette at 22, let alone 18.

A lot can happen in 2-3 years, so it all depends on you and your situation when you decide to move on to a newer/different vehicle. So it all depends on your situation, personal desires/tastes and vehicle availability/prices at the that time (example: 2014 C7s may be in your price range and more desirable to you). Beyond that a Corvette is just like owning any other vehicle in that you must be and drive responsible, as well as know your capabilities, as well as the vehicles.

My 08 Coupe is the cheapest car I've insured besides my 85 Z28. Im 26, I've had the following cars
1996 Trans Am
1992 Cadillac Deville
2001 Jeep Cherokee
1989 Cadillac Fleetwood
1970 Dodge Power Wagon
1999 Cadillac Deville
2004 Cadillac STS
2003 Cadillac Escalade
2002 Formula
2013 Audi A4
2015 Silverado
2008 Corvette
1985 Camaro
I currently have the last three on that list fully insured for 276 dollars a month.

This is what all of the young Mustang and ricer owners try to convince themselves of. Usually right before they get smoked by the Corvette they thought wasn't that fast.

My highschool car was a "ricer" that would run high 10s. My mustang is faster than the vast majority of vettes. People who spout this stuff off give vette owners a bad name.

Watch all the YouTube videos of Corvette crashes so you won't be one of those people. Driven with respect ALWAYS, a Corvette will be good to you, and a lot of fun.
Keep the tires well maintained and buy quality brands only (they ain't cheap, btw).

I can say that as an older driver, the C6 was my 50th present to myself, that maturity, age and being male (oxymoron) all add up to taking more chances in the C6 for me. How we handle the execution and outcome of those chances is different for all of us. I personally needed to get out of sports cars in my early 20s to focus on the family....

It depends on what you mean by "ready for." You haven't given enough information to answer the question and you can see the vast majority of answers are related to how young adults drive high performance cars (usually not well.)
Need more info.
