I've owned a few real nice cars in my life. I have noticed since buying a new Vett, that's its pretty certain that some guy is going to come up and starting taking cars with me while getting gas. I think its even more likely to be an old timer who really wants one and they like to talk about the hot cars they have owned in their lives. I don't mind at all, but where the hell are all of the hot looking gold diggers. Lol

My wife and I drove up to Buffalo Bills grave last summer. This is a tourist attraction here in Colorado. We went in the welcome center to get an ice cream. When we came out we saw a very large crowd gathered around our C7. We were parked at the far end of the lot so it we slowly walked towards the crowd. We found that a tour bus of Asia people had pulled in and rather than tour the facility, they were taking turns getting their pictures taken around our car. In fact, they ask that we wait until they were done. We sat back and enjoyed the look on their faces as they posed with the Corvette. I ask the remaining few if they would like to sit in it and take pictures. You would have thought I offered them the world!!

I was driving my new GS home from Kerbeck's in NJ back to NC a few weeks ago and stopped for lunch at a fast food place. As I was walking back to my car a lady ran up to me with her cell phone and asked if I would take a picture of her with the car. Afterwards, she chatted me up about my car. She was very nice looking, mid to late 40s. That's never happened to me before.

Couple of weeks ago at the El Pollo Loco drive-thru. A young girl said her co-worker likes my car. I just smiled and said thanks.

I came out of a local bottle shop and 4 collage age girls were taking turns getting their pictures with my car. Needless to say it took all I had not to offer the cute blonde a ride.

We are in awe of the smiles our car puts on other people's faces. Makes our grow to twice the normal size.

Isn't one really. If I was a lot less married I'd definitely have pursued that further, but my guess is I'm still 15 years older than that lady and I think she was a lot more interested in the car than she was in me.

The wife and I were walking down a street in Key West, FL and there was a white '14 Vert sitting on parking lot. No other cars around it. The wife stopped and posed for a pic with it. I think that ignited her love of the Corvette. We purchased a used C6 when we returned from vacation. Enjoyed it for a while til she decided she wanted a new C7. So we picked up the new GS.

Me too! This is my first Vett, so this caught me off guard a little. All positive, however. For example . . .

Mailing a package the post office and one of the workers comes out and asks if he can look a the car while I am in the office . . .

Nice lady drives a couple blocks out of her way to let me know that when I used my turn signal the LED running lights shut off on the same side (didn't have the heart to tell her this was the way it was designed.)

At a stop sign in the summer and a tourist takes my picture.

In a parking lot a retired GM worker comes over just to talk about the car.

I have a convertible, so when the top down I have had many conversations with nearby cars, trucks and even people on the sidewalk while waiting for the light to change.

Driving past a large group ride of Harley's and they all start giving me the wave (kind of fun)

When parking, I had to get used to lots of questions about the car, requests to look inside . . .

Like you, I have had a few nicer sports cars in the past, but I think this made in America, Corvette mystique lives on!

LOL . . . I'm a very friendly guy, always with a smile on my face, and am used to being engaged in conversations when driving one of my nice cars. However, when driving my black on black on black convertible C7, not many people want to talk with me. I think it must be scary, and it is quite a departure from any car I've ever purchased. It was love at first sight when I saw it.

I do now get more approval from the scary side of the human spectrum, and maybe that's a good thing.

I love this effect, over the years of owning 2 Vettes and a heavily cammed GEN5 I've grown accustomed to strangers chatting me up. Social networking at its finest for sure.

Before my current gf and I started dating she would razz me about random people asking about my GS. Now that she's been with me for ownership of that car and my C7 she has had to start fielding the questions too. God love her for actually going out of her way to learn about the car, she even does the "V" when we are out and about.

These cars are timeless for sure.

The most interesting chat I had was at the car wash. A retired GM engineer who worked on corvettes back in the 70s and 80s struck up a conversation while waiting on our cars. Told me GM built some real crap back then, but he still owned several. Said his team wanted to fix most of the stuff but GM would nix most of the changes to keep profits high. Then a 3rd guy chimed in, he just bought one a week prior. I really do enjoy the attention, its never been negative.......... so far.

I have had so many kids in my car it's not funny. I love the look on their faces when I tell them to go ahead and sit behind the wheel.

Perhaps in Missouri or Arkansas, I'm sure you're the talk of the town. No one really looks at Corvettes here in Silicon Valley.

The kids! They love the car. I was out and about one day in the GS. School bus was dropping children off. Two boys were looking and giving thumbs up. Clearly were excited about the car.

I stopped for bagels the other day and this very attractive big chested tall blonde asks me about my car so I took her for a ride and stopped off at her place where we, ahem, "relaxed" and then my wife woke me up to take out the garbage. I guess dreams don't count....
