How do I know if this vette has matching numbers. I know it now has a 350 small block with a 3 speed auto tranny.

The L12 on the Trim Tag is the date of the car. I do not have my books with ne so hopefully someone will chime in.

For the question of numbers matching; you do not have the original block as only 327 blocks were available in this year.

If it has a 350 and 3 speed auto it's definitely not a numbers matching powertrain.

Original automatic transmissions were powerglide, 2 speed.

And '66 Corvettes came with either a 327 sbc or a 427 BB. The 350 sbc was not available in Corvettes until 1969.

Not original, but post the numbers from the pad on the front of the engine to find out what you do have.

The 350 in mine turned out to be a 73/74 one-ton truck engine!

They need to be broken up to make since...

Is that 'exactly' how they show on the block or the pictures you got?
