Mounting Gopro's to the car with a tether?
Anyone got advice for how they mount their gopro? I've got a great suction mount. Lots of holding power. But do people tether the gopro to the car?

I used to use a tether when I first got my camera but I've never had a problem of it coming off so I ditched it. Also there is a chance that it might do more harm to the car if it's dangling instead of just dropping off
Not sure of the Hero5 but Gopro's are not the greatest at night

Yea, those were terrible night settings. I have super bright 50W HID Morimoto kit. Better videos to come. I recorded tonight. Edits next. Thanks for the info about the mount! Think I'm going no tether!!!

Do you own a hatch or an FRC? If you own a hatch there was a good thread a while back of a member utilizing a rear strut bar from an Acura Integra to mount a camera. It used the mounting points of the hatch struts and apparently is a near perfect fit. It was nice because not only are they plentiful so they're relatively cheap but can often be had in various colors also (if that's your thing).
If you have an FRC whole thing is obviously moot.
EDIT: Here you go I found the thread (even commented on it a while back);

Looks like some members have expanded on the idea too, including wrapping the bar in carbon fiber vinyl for a custom look.
