navigation system
I just bought a 2008 with NAV. When I tried to plug in my home address it couldn't find the city. I found the regions tab and it only shows regions 6 - 10. Is there a way to toggle that to the midwest / western regions? If not, does buying the maps update automatically load all the regions?
TIA,
Don

Some years used two discs- east and west (with some overlap in the middle).
It's likely you have the "wrong" disc installed, try looking in all the different nooks and crannies of the car to see if the other disc is hiding there.
The more recent discs are back to using just one disc with all the info on it. You can usually buy or "inherit" a used one on this Forum, try C6 Parts for Sale if nobody jumps into this thread.
You'll probably also get some people telling you the factory Nav is a waste of time.
The graphics are plain and the system is non-intuitive, but it actually works pretty well and will give distance/turn info on the HUD if you are navigating in Street mode, which no aftermarket system will do. Do a Search for Red Lion Tutorial here, he works(ed?) at Bowling Green and knows all about the system.
We've used it for 140k+ miles over most of the USA and Canada with good results.

Its probably on the wrong disc. One is Eastern part of US the other is Western part of US. Look in the trunk cubby holes, owners manual and most likely its in there. When I bought mine, it had the Eastern disc in it, and I live in Texas and needed the other. Mine was with the owners manual in the trunk.
