The Corvette Black Book says the 2012 ZR1 weighs 3,333 pounds. Can't help you with the weight of the 2017.

my 2011 ZR1 with 1ZR, full fuel, and nothing else in the car was 3339lb on the scale at the racetrack....my car is bone stock (as in as factory delivered, with factory wheels -not the cup wheels- and R888 tires on it).

Wow thats lighter than I thought they would be. I figured well into 3400+ with a full tank. Thats not bad at all.

Has anybody actually confirmed the claimed weight loss from long tubes on a ZR1. 30+ lbs seems a bit much to me.

Anybody done a light weight flywheel ?

Not worth the driveability hit. I had a light weight flywheel in my last car, never again for street driving.

I found the following curb weights on the net. I believe they are a good SWAG:

2009 ZR1: 3324
2010-13 ZR1: 3333
2016 C7Z: 3524

All of these numbers seem about right. I can see another 10lbs for the 2010+ due to radio changes and PTM. 2012-13 models had an exhaust change adding two large cats into the x-pipe which are easily worth at least 10lbs. Not sure if there is a weight difference between the two transmission options (also includes a wheel and tire change) for 2012+ either. If there's any difference it's probably only around 10, maybe 20lbs tops.

Basically, the new C7Z06 is around 200lbs heavier, but I believe this is for the M7. I would assume the A8 weighs more, but cannot confirm.

So I guess that means the ZR1 has a better power to weight ratio than the C7Z.

ZR1 638 HP @ 3,333 lbs = 0.1914 HP per pound
C7Z 650 HP @ 3,524 lbs = 0.1844 HP per pound

Correct?

Correct. Stock ZR1 easily keeps up with my Z06. It is one of the few stock cars that I worry about. Bastards are fast.

However this is only comparing peak hp.

In the comparison dyno charts I have seen, the Z06 offers more torque below 5000 RPMS. So it conceivably should be more responsive. Otherwise though, the dyno charts are very comparable.

In a straight line, Z06 wins up to about 120mph. Afterwards, weight and aero take over. ZR1 wins. In the twisties, the superior downforce, better suspension and weight distribution gives the Z06 the advantage.

There is alot more to winning a race than power to weight ratios. Also depends on what kind of race we talkin.

I was going to go into the whole drag coefficient thing originally but here is my take.

At the road course the driver is the difference (best driver wins!)
At the drag strip the driver is the difference (best driver wins!)

Its that close I am sure.

Top speed ZR1 wins! Well maybe driver is the difference also it takes a lot of guts to reach top speed in either car.
