Default Air cleaner duct???

Reinstalling the air cleaner in the Grand Sport and I guess I tightened this clamp a bit too much. I can't find just the clamp; only the entire duct and with shipping it's close to $100. All I need is the clamp...any ideas where to get it separately? Or maybe a used duct?

Maybe answering my own question but what about trimming off the rubber tabs that hook into the clamp and then just sourcing a "normal" hose clamp of the correct size? Any down side to that?

I would think you should not have a problem with any auto parts store and picking one of the correct size worm gear clamp.

None that I see I would do it instead of a $100 new one that's for sure

You can pick up a new clamp for a couple dollars at most auto parts stores or hardware stores

Thanks guys! Regular clamp definitely seems the route to go. Cute little duct/clamp interlocking design they had but geez. Over engineering at its finest. This isn't a German car right?

Get a silicone coupler (red, blue, black ?) & a couple of nice SS clamps. Fixes the problem & adds some bling.

Smooth out the nubs (if you really want to) then go get a hose clamp made for a dryer vent.

That's what I did on a previous car I had.

There's probably a reason for the rubber tabs, but the only one I can think of is so they can charge an owner $100 for a new part that should cost about $5 -- or well less if you only have to buy the clamp.

You might give Vettenuts a try. They sell used items off of wrecked vettes. They are a vendor here. Very

This is the best answer.. Changing the hose to a smooth walled hose will change the airflow characteristics and may create issues with the MAF.

If all that is broken is the clamp, any hardware store should have one. They're the same size as dryer vent clamps.

The rubber nubs are just to keep the screw in the most convent place (up top) to tighten or loosen.

It won't bother the MAF.

If I were overthinking this, I would go to the ends of the earth to get an oem hose clamp. 40 years from now, when they are no longer available, a guy from the NCRS will deduct points for having the wrong one.
