Default Twin turbo ls2

looking at getting the upp twin turbo kit for my 2007 c6 with 10k miles. Want to run 7 psi and make 600whp. Will this decrease engine life? Anything I should know before purchasing? I have very little knowledge when it comes to F/I. Car is stock except for diablo sport tune, muffler delete and k&n intake. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Also this is my daily driver.

Having had the UPP kit and if 600whp is your goal, I would get an A&A or ECS kit instead. My Current car (05) has right at 110K on the stock motor running the A&A and I make mid 600's on pump gas.

If turbo is the way you want to go however, you will need an oil cooler for sure. I would also look into a radiator upgrade as well, being where you're located.

I would prefer turbo over supercharger. Love the sound and the power potential. My goal as of now is 600whp but might go higher as I have more money.

A&A or ECS kit will be way more bang for the buck and a ton less headaches than the twin turbo kit. If your in Abilene get with Mason Krause with the red procharged C5, he'll point you in the right direction. Unless you have a fully built engine I really wouldn't bother with the complexities of a twin turbo kit since you will never get close to its full potential.

If I had an LS2/LS3 a centrifugal kit would be my first mod, they like boost. Kinda makes me jealous that my LS7 really isn't as boost friendly.

Good info! Thanks a lot! Ill look into the pro charger. Yes I'm in Abilene but my main issue with either option is finding somewhere that can tune it

You are not to far from DFW, there are several good tuners/shops there. I've had Lethal Performance/Performance Headquarters in San Antonio do all the work/tuning on my z06. They are top notch and can build you a monster. If your looking for a tuner a lot closer there is Cam Thetford (West Texas Motorsports) in San Angelo and then Jon Simpson in Odessa is pretty good.

If you were at the car meet the night of Nov 9th you would have seen some of the cars he's tuned. The 2 turbo LS cars from Big Spring that were running that night he's tuned. I was with their group in the silver c6z with the black roof, black headlights wheels etc.

I was deployed and still am at the house the moment. I'm assuming if I install the pro charger I would have to trailer my car to Dallas? Assuming it's not good to run it without a tune.

I would personally look at the ECS or A&A kits over the procharger, all 3 are centrifugal type superchargers but the ECS/A&A kits are specifically designed for Corvettes. Yes I would trailer it to wherever you decide to get it tuned. If your on Facebook there is a secret Abilene specific street car page, you can PM me about it. They were talking about bringing one of Lethal Performance's tuners to Abilene sometime in Jau-Feb.

What JP said.

And yes, anything that adds power can have a negative impact on engine/drivetrain life.

+1 for a centri setup. I have a Vortech and love it. Turbos are great as well but centri's beat them bang for buck around the 600whp mark. And yes, don't drive it without a tune once you have done mods.

Turbos are amazing, but vettes have limited room, and for anything less than 1400rwhp, I would do a centri and enjoy. Just simple and it works.

Unreal, are you having any belt issues at your power level? My understanding is that a lot of centri folks start running into belt issues at 1000WHP+

If set up properly, there are no belt issues. Many of the reported issues are due to belt missalignement. They are sensitive to that.

Took a few setups and awhile, but now zero issues. Same belt for past ~3 years now I think. 20k+ miles.

At first yes, because of alignement and poor setup. I went from full 8 rib, to 8 rib with DD to 10 rib with DD, to 10 rib with cogged DD. Once I did the 10 rib cogged DD zero issues.

Thanks! Nice to know that the 10 rib cogged DD is the way to go if I decide to upgrade to a YSI.

That setup for rich folk. Lol.

I don't think ECS does the cog anymore but I believe A&A may now.

Maybe I'm just lucky but 8 rib with DD does the job for me.

Then again it depends on what you want. If you want to spin it 20% over, and drive the crap out of it yes. If you just want to make 950-1000rwhp then you can do like Jody and just do an 8 rib/DD and that is fine with 3.1" or so. Want to max out a 2.7 and that is different.

What are your opinions on your UPP kit? I only see a small handful of people with C6s running their kit.

I had issues with the DP's fitting. They even sent new ones but still wouldn't fit. Had to cut and re-weld to make them work. Now, could it have been the pipes, or the shop that was doing the install? Hard to say. I quit using said shop for a few reasons.

I don't care for the oil return setup. It hangs down and if you're car is lowered at all it's dangerous. I re-routed mine.

It made good power and made all the right noises. For the money though you can more than likely have a custom kit made.

I like my A&A setup better. It just works. Makes the same power also.
