Dry to Wet sump?

Safety Car
I've never heard of anyone going from dry sump to wet sump before, usually it is the other way around, or swapping for a better dry sump system. Subscribed to learn more about it

Have to run the crank snout adapter. Other than that, yes it just bolts on.
Plenty of people do it when swapping in used LS7 motors to non-z06 cars, since they all use a dry sump crank. SDPC sells an adapter for the crank.

Thanks, I bought all the parts last night. The reason is im putting an LS9 into my 1967 Nova and I have no room for a dry sump system and I wont be road racing the car. Thanks for the input.

Just remember the dry sump cranks have the longer snout, so take that into account with the balancer and parts it effects.

No reason to run dry sump, and add cost, room, complexity to a swap car like that.

Got it. I was just asking cause this is the first time I have heard about running those motors without a dry sump setup. I think the only time dry sump is really worth it would be for a road racing car with a lot of lateral Gs which very few vette owners do.

And then, the stock stuff isn't even up to task. You need a almost complete aftermarket system.

I totally agree. I ran a custom setup on my STI that makes my corvette's OEM dry sump setup look like nothing. Then again you need way more on an EJ boxer setup where the heads/valvetrain are flat.

I have all the parts except the 14% under drive Harmonic balancer. I thought ATi made the 11 rib one, I saw the Ligenfelter one. Is Ligenfelter the only one who makes the 11 Rib 14% one?
