Dyno Day in SoCal

Dyno Day in SoCal
My friend works at a shop that caters mostly to European cars but they probably have the nicest chassis dyno set up in the country. I asked him if they were open to dyno days for American cars and he said they can easily set something up like that on a weekend.
They are located in Torrance, California and I wanted to see what kind of interest you guys may have in doing a dyno day in February. If we get enough cars they can do it for $75.00/car.
Let me know, it would be a nice way to spend a day with our cars.

I'm interested. Could I bring two cars - my Corvette and my FR-S? Thanks!

The shop is World Motorsports in Torrance, California. They probably have the nicest chassis dyno set up in the country. It is in an enclosed room with a high speed wind tunnel set up where the air speed coming from the fan matches the car's speed on the dyno. My friend says that the car manufactures use the dyno for testing as well.
I am going to visit the shop later this week and talk to my friends boss and get some details. Do you guys have any questions that i should get answers to? Just let me know.

Not sure if the wind tunnel air speed thing would have any HP effect on a stationary car on the Dyno, no rolling resistance.
Might be beneficial for heat due to most Corvettes are over 150 MPH wheel speed at red line.
Kind of makes you wonder if there are hurricane force winds going on in the Dyno room.
I guess it is European.

Melting Slicks
But it's a European shop and subject to a tariff.

Hmmm. Could see how my Vararam intake works if that is the case.

ACTUAL DYNO-
The dyno is a 4WD Mustang dyno that is built flush with the floor so it is safe to put low cars on the dyno.
WIND TUNNEL DETAILS-
The room has 3 huge exit fans and 1 large inlet fan and air is pulled in from the roof and exits from the roof. The overall CFM of the airflow in the dyno room is 259,000 CFM @ 5" static pressure. I do not really know what all of that means but that is what it is. The speed of the air matches the car speed on the dyno to simulate air into the intakes at road speed. They tell me that the results with this setup are very surprising.
LUNCH-
The shop said they would be willing to have a lunch.
PRICING FOR DYNO DAY-
All dyno pulls will include A/F and they can also chart timing on the graph if the OBD connection works on your car. The price per car is $80.00 and that will include 3 pulls on the dyno.
I think it's a great deal for the day and I really think that this is the nicest dyno in the country. I don't know of any other dyno that can quantify the air flow going into your coolers and intake like this dyno can.
Here are some pictures of the set up.

I might stop by as well. I've only got a Vararam so far and will be installing LG Super Pro Longtubes, and a G5XE cam here pretty soon, but would be nice to see where I am now and how much the headers and cam will net me. Plus I'm only about 6 miles away from that shop

I will put a list of names together that want to participate, it's on a first come/first serve basis.
If you are interested, just send me a PM and I will go ahead and PM everyone that's on this thread already.

80 is dirt cheap
The fan is interesting
Have a 67 A body with cowl induction if there was more time would love to make a sealed air pan do a run with and without with a temp probe just to see for the heck of it.
And...get an 02 bung so a real A/F # could be had
System still isnt welded and with 82 deg overlap impossible to get a number from a tailpipe.
Part of me says get my A/F nailed down beforehand may as well get a before # why not. Dont care if its 400 or 500 just be nice to see whats doing what where.
