Default Top 50 Dealerships in Corvette Sales for 2016

From corvetteblogger.com

The list of top 10 dealers remains the same as the top 10 dealers from 2015, but the order has reshuffled slightly. Our friends at Kerbeck Corvette are once again the world’s largest Corvette dealer with 1,044 Corvette sold during 2016. MacMulkin and Les Stanford keep their spots at No.2 and No.3 and Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet single-handedly sold over 300 Corvettes to stay in fourth position. Bomnin Chevrolet in Miami moved up from ninth to fifth and was the only dealership in the Top 10 that sold more Corvettes in 2016 than in 2015.

Thanks for the link.

I was comparing the 2016 top 50 list to the 2015 top 100 list and the 2014 top 50 list.

In 2014 my local dealer was #32 with 105 sold. In 2015 they had dropped to #40 at 87 sold. In 2016, they are not even on the top 50 list, meaning that they sold fewer than 67 Corvettes in 2016. That is a 36%+ drop in sales in two years for my local dealer.

Add up all the Rick Hendrick locations and he rolls into second place.

Only one in Ohio (#8) which is surprising given the number on the road.

Doesn't seem correct that Buds in St Marys Ohio is not on the top fifty list. They sure have plenty of Corvettes to sell.

While it does seem strange, it's possible that they did sell less than 67 in 2016. In 2015 they were #29 at 101 sold.

MacMulkin's and Kerbeck's prices are a major influence on prices at smaller dealers.

Also, most of the customers at those two dealers are not locals, thus their customers do not have those two dealers service their cars.

Sales vs production is at odds. There were 40,689, 2016 Corvettes produced. This is the largest of the three production model years. The number of Corvettes distributed to the US for MY 2016 was 34,678. The remainder were destined for other countries.
However, US sales are obviously down. I guess this accounts for a large inventory in the US. Interesting that GM increased production while sales were declining. Wonder who was watching the store?

I was also wondering who authorized the overtime to produce all those additional cars. All it did was to create a huge surplus that GM had to give 10% rebates on(plus the dealers who were forced to sell basically at cost) plus the built in additional labor costs from the overtime.

My numbers as to the 2016 C7 distribution differs from yours.

Total 2016 MY built......40,689

US.....................37,372
Canada................1,793
Mexico...................207
Japan....................191
Mid East................254
Europe..................962

Total................40,689

Retail sales 2016 calendar year..........29,995, down from the 2015 calendar year sales of 33,329 and 2014 calendar year sales of 34,839.

Looks like Kerbeck and MacMulkin are down a bit from '15? Can't find the numbers, but I thought Kerbeck was a little over 1200ish and MacMulkin was a little over 900.

My dealer has a 100% satisfactory rating. They sold 1 vette and I'm happy.

Answer: Chevrolet dealerships across the country authorized it. The dealerships drive the production levels.

Most likely from Wes leaving.
