Default An AMAZING DAY!!!! First drive since 2003!!! 383 Stroker.

Greetings everyone. Today I got to pull the corvette out a garage for the first time since 2003. What an amazing feeling. I was able to run it a few months back but alas had to pull the motor again for an oil leak. Everything seems to be resolved now.

Just a quick trip up the block and back. But overall it was a very promising start, and a very very good day overall.

1st drive since 2003. That's an amazing statement of resolve to not only revive but upgrade your '79 to get it back on the road. Congratulations!

Thanks guys. This has been a brutal project. I am glad to finally be making some headway. I will be working with one of the forum vendors to source a new interior. I am leaning towards the corbeau a4 seats...

Should be fun... The exhaust hopefully will go on later this week.

Looks great mate and well done on your persistence. I'm sure you've been looking to getting it on the road especially with the 383. That really sounds good and I can't wait until you finish it. Good job

Five minutes outside... Five minutes... Its pretty ridiculous. They took the center caps on my wheels too. And my entire interior...

If that doesn't build a fire under your tail to finish this project before summer I don't know what would!

I am running edelbrock performer rpm heads. With a custom comp cam. I am not 100% sure of the cam profile any longer. But I found something in my notes a few years ago that might be it. If you want a somewhat educated guess I will let ya know.

I am struggling with cam selection. I have Eagle crank. Scat rods, Z28 intake and Holley carb. Keith Black KB100-020 pistons, non-roller block. Static compression ratio 10.3.

Prolly should take this to a new thread, since we are hijacking this poor guys thread.

I'd consider a rear end change unless all you do is highway driving, then you can put a little more cam in it and take advantage of the parts you have. Too much cam will really make a mess of it.

Wow! Amazing looking car and hats off for your patience to continue the project!
