Z06 mufflers on c6 base
Guys quick question for you. Will 2008 z06 bi mode mufflers fit in my 2011 base model with kooks headers and 3 inch xpipe? I know I will need npp in a box but need to know if the mufflers will mount up

I have a 2006-I bought Kooks headers to match my engine (LS2), went with the kooks z06 midpipe. The z06 axle back mufflers I got bolt right up. Mine is a manual so I had no issues. I believe that if you have an automatic the over axle pipes might need some adjusting.
NPP in a box is a must. I recommend routing the tubing through the side panel rather than down the middle of the car. Keeps it completely protected and away from heat sources and sharp metal.

I think...and I mean, I think the configuration should work being it's a Z exhaust. The 3" crossover was not changed on the Z's like they were on the 2.5" GS and Base cars so you should be good to go. Can't speak on the headers...sorry

Thanks for the info guys. I am looking at a set of Z06 mufflers tomorrow and if they're in great shape like the owner says hopefully have everything installed within a month

The Z06 bi-mode will not directly fit on a Kook's X-pipe for a base car. Though the Kook's X-pipe for the base is 3", it necks down to 2.5 before the axle back and is angled to accept the stock unit. Kook's does make an optional X-pipe that remains 3" and is angled to accept a Z06/ZR1 axle back on a LS3 car. Of course a good muffler shop can make it fit.

If you have an A6 tranny there will be an issue. If you have the M6 there should not be a clearance issue. Not sure about a perfect fit however.

The Base x-pipe is 2.5" at the end in order to slide in the Base 2.5" muffler inlet pipes.
The Z06 x-pipe is 3.0" at the end in order to slide in the Z06 3.0" muffler inlet pipes.

I put the NPP on a base '07 automatic with a set of 2.5"x3" adapters. Worked perfectly without clearance issues. I am currently putting a set of NPP on a 2010 GS the same way.

I read the posts but am unsure exactly of the answer im looking for so here is my question specifically. I have a 2011 Grandsport. I am buying Texas Speed 1 7/8 header and 3" off road X-pipe for the car. I am looking to mate a 09 z06 axle back to it. Will it fit?

pipes
The 3 inch pipe should mate up fine with the z06 axleback as long as it does not taper to a 2.5 inch at the end. bi mode z06 exhausts require 3 inches all the way back.
