I'm assuming this is not a race car. First thing that comes to mind is excessive vibration and noise, the reason mounts typically have some type of absorbent material like rubber or polyurethane in them. I wouldn't suggest going to solids.

IMHO, I would stick with some sort of compliance. Run a good set of poly mounts. SOLID mounts transmit a LOT of drivetrain NVH.

That's what I'm running on my track car and they're working out great. Make sure you change out front and back together.

If you go with solid mounts you will regret it even in a race car they are not necessary

Not sure what the pricing on the Corvette specified ones cost but that there seems like a very reasonable price. Thanks for the info.

Not so!
I run solid motor mounts in both of my C-5's and the vibration is not bad like others say, on occasion it might vibrate but I also run a big cam.

Needed to replace the mounts because on launch we were getting a "bang or pop" from to flexing of the stock mounts that would travel to the back wheels on a hard launch. After replacing, both cars have not have the problem again. My cars are also cutting 1.34 - 1.36 60 foot times.

I think going with the solid mounts will be good for you then, they are not as bad as you might think at an idle but the tune means a lot.
Best of luck!!

If you run the car in a 1/4 mile and want to post your time slip to see how you compare with others, click here for the C5 Quick List and I would be happy to update the list.
