Like the page says, does the C5 pan bottom half just bolt on/off with nothing else in the way? Guess I never really paid much attention to the pan when I was under the car.

Early pans were one piece. Later (2000+ I think?) were 2 piece. You can unbolt the bottom of the 2 piece on the car.

Seems like a very simple solution, and almost too good to be true. Makes one wonder why it took until now to come up with it, if it's that effective. Are there other solutions on the market like this already?

Nice find on the baffles....I've been eyeing their crank scraper for the LS6 bat wing pan. I would think that the combination of the two for the bat wing oil pan might be the ticket.
Ok, who's going to be first to try this out??

I installed their crank scraper and baffle plate in my LS3 about 2 months ago. They really make quality stuff.
It should be enough to keep her alive on the Toyos I run. But I purposely won't go to an even stickier tire due to oil starvation concerns.

I did however install their baffle in my F Body pan, very nice piece I must say. IR does great work on everything I've seen from them.

Waste of time and money for HPDE and autocross enthusiast; add an additional quart of oil for track events as the OEM recommends to prevent oil starvation problems. Eleven years of auto-crossing and track days with C5 Z06 and no oil starvation problems. Original LS6 with nearly 90,000 miles on the clock with much of it being track duty.
I've never run a banked oval yet, but I would think the more the banking, the less the issue is with oil even on long high G turns.
For those that track across the country, what tracks and corners do you feel are the most dangerous to our oil starvation issues? For me, I would think turn 7 and 8 at Thunderhill would causes the biggest concerns. Any thoughts??

Ive run there baffle on my LS1 fbody and now on my c6Z. love them. i will say the fbody one was awesome. well engineered and really did its job.
but the shallow dry sump baffle for C6Z(below) im not sure is as benificial. especially for the amount of work required to install (droping susp cradle). it also only had baffles for front/rear. not left/right, and with the shallow pan, and with the sides of the pan being right next to the baffle i dont see it really doing much. but $4000 for an ARE drysump setup was out of my budget so i went this route. probly wasted money.
i know this doesnt help with the batwing talk.
i also disagree with ipuig statement. he may be on a slower course or less sticky tires. i was definatly getting pressure drops before even with over fill. (fbody)

Good feedback.....what road course tracks are you specifically running and what type of tires do you run on the road courses? I do think high speed sweepers with sticky tires might be a concern but a lot depends on rpm, speed, G's, etc.

Great questions and feedback guys. Really intetested in this topic.
Would love to hear from folks with more track experience. Sebring and Laguna dont have any sweepers and autocross is mostly irrelevant. Not sure on the other tracks. Thanks for the input ipuig!

I just installed the scraper and baffles in a C6 pan, quality parts. I want to see the batwing baffles installed.

I have a C6 with stock LS3 and run NASA Time Trials in So Cal. I add an extra quart of oil per the owners manual, use Redline 5W30, added the Z51 in radiator oil cooler, and run Hoosier R6s at Willow Springs, Cal Speedway, and Buttonwillow. I've done 1:30 at Willow Springs, 1:50 at Cal Speedway, and 1:58 at Buttonwillow 13CW with no oil starvation at all. Turns 8, 9, and 2 at Willow Springs are very long, high G turns which are probably as hard as any track on oil control. If the oil stays below about 270 degrees and you have the extra quart, I think the stock system can handle anything.

For the LS6 with batwing pan, is the best case scenario to run the baffles and the crank scraper in tandem??
Let us know if you get any feedback on this system for the batwing oil pan.
