Default Hoosiers on - no more swerving!

At the advice of ACS55 I tried 315-30-18 Hoosiers. No more swerving at speed. Totally straight up to 133 mph. What a relief from the 305-35-18 Mickey's. Thanks ACS55!

Also tried launching on some new concrete. Engine definitely has a hesitation going WOT whether going WOT at idle or with rpm well above idle. I was several fee out and the Hoosiers were holding but then spun slightly when power finally came on. Afraid it may take a tuning to get the throttle to come on immediately.

Logged 3-4 shifts in both Sport and Tour modes via my HP Tuner. Shift rpm was 6446 in Tour while only 6143 in Sport. Did not try Track mode. Will have to catch that next time out. In Tour 4-5 was 6388 and 6363. Did not try Sport 4-5 but would assume it would probably be lower than Tour as well.

As best as I can eyeball diameters with my yoyo, the Hoosiers are almost identical in diameter to my factory front tires. I drove about 15 miles and no ABS light. Maybe not far enough to determine as my low tire light had not came on either and I have no TPS sensors in the back.

That's good news for some. I still can't believe MT has this problem going on

Good to hear!

I've never tried Tour mode at WOT but Track mode definitely shifts higher then Sport. Shift points were kind of all over the place though.

Our factory tires have an aspect ratio of 25. My Hoosiers are 30. Maybe our cars just don't like anything more than a 30 aspect ratio. The Mickey's were 35. I've ran quite a few Mickey's in the past on different cars and never had this problem.

I've never tried Track mode. Only Tour and Sport. My Tour mode 3-4 shift covered .184 seconds at shift from max. advance to max. advance of the next gear. In Sport mode .130. So definitely a faster shift in Sport. That difference you can really feel too. I'll have to give Track a try too next time out.

Glad they work for you!!
I have been VERY happy with them... at the track, they DO NOT need a big smoke show either.. only 3 seconds in 1st at 5500rpm, and then 3 seconds in 2nd at 5500, then let off.. not much smioke needed. I have also had good luck anywhere from 20-24 lbs.. I drop it lower for a poorly prepped track, when 24 begins to break loose. Your car will always go faster at the highest PSI that will hook.

Also, they are 26" tall, and the OEM tires are 26.6" tall. I am running front skinnies, that are also 26" tall.

Thanks Andy! I hope to be trying mine out next Friday. Suppose to be cooler and no rain.
