Default Robins Auto convertible tops

I took my 66 to Bill's Upholstery & Class today in Arlington TX today to get a quote for a replacement convertible top. The price seemed fair to me, but they recommend the Robbins vinyl top. Any first hand opinions for this manufacturer or for Bill's Upholstery. Thanks. http://www.robbinsautotopco.com/chevrolet.php

Robbins is a major, quality top manufacturer - I have one for my Cobra replica. I don't know anything specific about their Corvette tops however or how close they are to originals.

I like Al Knoch or Key tops if you a re concerned about originality. However, all the major brands are good. It is all about the installer doing good work.
If you are not concerned about original then I would recommend Stay Fast top material. I install a lot of these tops. They look good and wears very well. JMO.

My 63' has a Robbins top dated 1984. It is vinyl, in great condition, and even the rear window is not clouded. No leaks & no problems in 30 years (always garaged when near home).

No, not NCRS material and finish like the excellent Al Knoch product, but a high quality top with a trouble free material and fit.

Robbins is a major manufacturer of convertible tops for the auto industry. They have been around for a long time and have a good reputation in the business. Many independent top shops prefer them because they provide tops for such a wide variety of vehicles, and they tend to be a known product for the installers.

It the shop will stand by the product it removes one variable for you to have to deal with if there ends up being a fitment issue.

Good luck... GUSTO

I have a stay fast Robbins top and I love it, it just wasn't installed correctly by someone in Dallas. I've talked to Bill's Upholstery about getting it fixed, just haven't done it yet. I'd like to know how you come out.
