Speed is just a question of money...how fast can you go?

I dont recall how much hp the got but they wanted 800
It wasn't cheap

I would order a new chassis to go with the engine.
Flee Bay has a 632 = 800+hp

Without an upgraded C3 suspension, I personally think after about 500+Gross HP, the chassis/suspension is just not up to the task straight line performance or more importantly cornering and braking....just me.

I got 958 hp out of my standard height 582.
Had to use 20 degree heads but it's 10:5:1, runs on 93 pump gas.
And yes I have a 4 link 9" rear, 5 point roll bar and a mid plate.
Plan on a 10 pt cage sometime next year.

Peak hp isn't everything, don't get caught up on peak #'s, if it's a little under 800 with a great curve and lives where you need it rpm wise that's the way to go.

From the research I have done when I was planning my build I "believe" (and I apologize if I'm wrong) I believe those heads really like to be high up in the rpm range and are kinda doggish down low, especially street driving.

i guess if anybody was serious about buying one you could probably call them and get more detailed specs to see if it meets your needs. but really that is probably more power than anybody requires for straight street driving.

May have been the Brodix Head Hunter series heads I was thinking about as the one's that like the higher rpms-I remember considering them because they were way less expensive compared to the 20 degree heads I wound up going with.
OP-what are your goals with the new set up? Drag race?

Mine makes peak tq at 5600 rpm (807 ft lbs) so likely that motor you posted likes to live down low so I was wrong about those heads.

Pump gas 540's have been doing it forever. Even Hyd rollers can do it these days. It's all in the heads/intake/cam combo.
I like to make power as RPM climbs...my last N/A version made 742 lb ft and 871 HP@6800 RPM or so..plus it would hang on and keep power strong past peak.
Makes it easier to hook up and drive. It's going to blow the tires away at lower speeds anyway....so might as well have all you can as the RPM climbs when you're really wanting to have fun.

I use to build a lot of "triple nickles" (555ci)......and they would make an easy 800 + on pump gas with 2005 technology.
The reason for the triple nickle was simple......at 4.560 bore and $3500 for a prepped Big M block......it gave you two more bores for "shelf" pistons......
