personally I think they will be looking at about 15K difference, possibly more................

remember that dealers will give you wholesale on yours, and expect retail on the new one.....................

new Z51 to GS difference is about 5K...............

If money is important I would stick with what you have.....there is really not much different with the GS you found...wider tires, fender flares, and bigger brakes....

I can't answer your specific question but I am curious as to what you think the new one is going to do for you that the current beauty you have is not doing? You've only driven it 8600 miles in three years so surly don't drive it a lot. Seems kind of silly even if money wasn't tight.

Just my $.02.

If you say your not rich, and money is important to you.
I must ask, do you really need it?

If you could get it for a $15k difference you would be doing good. I'm guessing it will be more...maybe substantially more. I know you didn't ask but I agree with the others. What you have is pretty nice and I don't see the value for the difference.

I think you are looking at 20k difference, I would keep what you have. Wait until Spring and they reveal what the 2018 are all about, then deal on a 2017.

I thought you were totally against the A8 so why are you considering it?

So, one more thing to add is the 2014 is the only Vette that has HD Radio (for now) and as everyone mentioned, that is a sweet ride . . . I have the same car in Black and the only time I think of trading it is for a Z06 . . so I get the bigger engine, outside of that, I would never consider getting rid of my Z51 (my 2 cents).

I hope all the comments help . . I think all comments are worth considering . . .

At the end of the day, it's whatever makes you happy within the realm of your financial situation.

Just an opinion, but I would also keep what you have, but for a slightly different reason. Personally, I am not that drawn to upgrading to a GS. If I was starting new I would consider it, but if I wanted to upgrade it would be to a Z. For my use, I really like the look and performance of the Stingray. No plans to take up the hobby of racing (although I envy a little those who do)

That was a great question, I think of it often myself.

I have a 2014 CGM Z51 3LT M7 Coupe, with 15,000 miles.

I really like the look of the GS, don't really need more brakes or bigger tires, just the wide body look, and the color change is what I would do.

I haven't been able to justify $15 - $20K for the upgrade.

This. He recently started a thread ranting about this and said there's no way he'd trade. Now a couple weeks later he's looking.

Wholesale or maybe a bit more. On the new, much better than retail. Dealers are discounting GSs, Z06s, Stingrays.

I'm pretty sure its ok for someone to change their mind guys, geez this place gets like 'Days of our Lives' at times....

I don't think it's worth the difference of 15-20k if that is the number. I had to go look myself especially at the CE GS. Love the GS, but the things I could do to my Biscayne for 20k, LS swap and interior etc..

For the $20k difference, I would keep what I have. 8500 miles on a 3 model year old car indicates that you would be spending a whole lot for bragging rights and a fancier garage ornament.

I love my 2016 Z51 vert with 15k miles and wouldn't even consider trading it in for the relatively minor differences the grand sport offers.

As someone w/ a fair amount of track time in the past, that's only reason I'd move to a GS coupe, even though the wide body look doesn't do anything for me, and I prefer convertibles. I don't dislike the wide body, but I don't think it's a styling enhancement either.

I'd do it because a) convertibles are almost never allowed on most tracks, and b) for the wider tires, which account for the majority of the GS's superior track times. The convertible Z06 and GS just don't make much sense to me.

I'm only interested in the C7 as a convertible, and for my use and preferences, I don't consider the GS as an upgrade.

Looking at Kerbeck it is only a 10K (1LT form) and 7K in 2LT form difference between the base and the GS (they don't have a Z51 on the board at the moment)

so so it looks to me like it would be around 5-7K from a Z51 to a GS in similar form if all cars were new now no idea on the bath you would take selling your car call it another 10-15K

You have to first except that buying cars especially sports cars is a loosing game that you can never win. You may do better sometimes but most of the time it's a loss.
The only thing I got going on in my head is to buy new or slightly used cars then drive each of them just a little so they hold value when it comes to a low mileage sale or trade in. You just have to have a big garage.
You do well when you sell it because the person may love that older model and will pay a premium for a low mileage version. Plus the average price for cars goes up over the years. That makes your low mileage semi-classic all the more desirable.
