new roof doesn't fit right
front driver side
rear gap
rear gap with scale
front passenger
At least that's how it seems to me. I don't have any pictures really showing the fit of the old one, but I ciuld have sworn it met the top of the windshield.
Attached photos show the new top installed and bolted down, adjusted per service manual although the front cones (it's an 85) are all the way back.
I recently learned I can shim the rear, but I thought I'd get some other opinions before I go the "bigger hammer" route.

similar experience on my 85.
foam along the front windshield began to rise. wipe everyday use glycerin onto windshield strip.
warm sun helps it rise.
but you need to adjust both the front and rear. rear does have shims. you will need to remove the seat belt hanger bolts and the rear b pillar trim to adjust.
know that it will fit right, just takessome adjusting.

I'll fiddle around with it a bit more.
It still has (what's left of) the original windshield weatherstrip, but I'm getting the windshield replaced as soon as the snow melts so I want this somewhat sorted out first.
Any idea how thick the shims are?
Right now to get the front screws are about 1/4" short of linong up with the holes if I tighten the rear first.
So I'm thinking I need to shim the whole thing forward.
