Wanted 63 Hood - or a lead to where I can buy a used original one

Prefer a 63 hood but I believe a 64 would also work.
I'm on Long Island in NY

Hi Chris -

I don't exactly know your goal, but just as an FYI, 63 and 64 hoods are different. They both have the styling indentions on each side, but 63's have an additional recessed rectangle that permit the cookie sheets to lay flush with the hood. 1964 hoods do not have these additional recesses and cookie sheets will not fit correctly. Additionally, if you have a 63 and the production number of your car indicates that you car should have hood alignment blocks, the 64 hood will not have the bolt backing plates installed to allow mounting the blocks. Hope I'm not running my head and telling you things you already know!

Thank you for the clarification. I remember the top recess now that you mention it. I did not think of the bolts. You're great !

You may want to check the NCRS Driveline....a gentleman in California had three a few months back -- all 63s. To clarify further ... if you are going for an NCRS restoration you'll need a hood with the proper number of hood blocks for your car's VIN....they went from 0 to 2 to 4 then back to 0 during the production year. If not, grab any decent 63 hood you can. They don't come up often...
