Struggling over the lettering inserts for the dash and rear bumper.
My general impression of the black interior of my base '09 coupe is that it is pretty boring. Like my old '00 Z28 Camaro, there is an abundance of black plastic and black vinyl and black leather. I've been considering buying the stick-on brushed aluminum finished "Corvette" letters for the dash and the rear bumper. I tend to stay away from J.C. Whitney looking accessories, but these actually look pretty tasteful to me. Opinions?

The letters on the rear will look fine. Just make sure you clean the area where the letters will sit real good. The raised letters are the easiest to install. I tried the dash on my C5 and never got them on. You need to clean that area also, then add the adhesive to the indented letter ares on the air bag then apply the letters individually. They are small and a little hard to handle. Take your time and you cna get them installed. On my C5 I painted the letter on the dash. I have the cashmere and ebony interior on my C6, so there is enough color where I never considered the letter on the dash.
Good luck and post some before and after shots when you get it done.

Painted the Corvette on the rear bumper and dash with a paint pen from Wally World...$2.00. Just clean real good before painting. Take your time, put a coat on, let dry, 2nd coat. Been on the car now for almost 4 years and still looks like the day I put it on.

Are the dash letters and the bumper letters the same size on the C6? Is the kerning correct on the Corvette logo so that they could be installed in one piece? I'm thinking of using masking tape on the front of the lettering and transferring it in one piece directly to the car. Once it's stuck down I would use a light water mist to relax the adhesive on the masking tape and remove it. Also, having a hard time finding ones with brushed aluminum finish.

The letters for the bumper and dash are identical. And no, they are not one piece.
The adhesive (3M peel & stick) is pretty much a one shot deal that you have to get right the first time. Getting them lined up and 'perfect' is not too difficult, I used needle-nose pliers and a Xacto knife to manipulate the letters.
I used vinyl/plastic letters from RPI, VR for the dash and 'chrome' for the bumper. The plastic will flex with the bumper/dash surfaces and are less prone to being snagged than the metal letters.
Cleaning and prep are key. The bumper is usually pretty easy once you get the wax off, but you must thoroughly remove any 'treatment' from the dash with repeated scrubbing's using alcohol swabs.
You also need to use an adhesion promoter. It comes in a felt pen-like applicator and is very easy to manage. You apply it and let it dry before sticking on the letters. Any excess wipes of with alcohol.
Another key is that you must do this in warm weather or a heated space and let it set up over night. A hair dryer helps in the process.
I put mine on in 2007 and I think it would be a struggle to pull them off, even now.

Nothing on the dash, but I had stainless letters on the bumper of my C5 and really liked the look.

I did the bumper with black on a MS.
I hesitated doing the interior due to wanting to keep it simple with no distraction on the inside. In this case I think less is better.
If you feel like you need some interior love you can always hang something from the rear view mirror, maybe some colorful fuzzy dice. lol
On a serious note though I could see going a carbon fiber lettering, it wouldn't stand out so much with the black.
I have never come to do anything on the dash.

I've got chrome letters on the back and nothing on the dash.

I've got chrome letters on dash and bumper. The dash is on for 3 1/2 years with no problem, still looks brand new. I thought I had the rear bumper letters on smoothly, but after a few months one little point must have come up/unstuck and I didn't notice it; when washing/drying the car, my cloth caught the raised spot and snagged it, pulling off part of the letter. So I had to buy another set (and just kept one as a spare.)

Put them on when they first came out. Black on rear fascia. Micro fiber cloth kept hanging on them and they eventually came loose. Took them off within 3 months.
