Default GM Tech 2 scanners

Did a search on Amazon and they appear to have quit selling them. Anyone purchase one recently?

Was going to message you but I guess others might ask as well. Do you have a link or brand/model. I don't hold you responsible but would prefer one someone has actually used as I have access to an OEM but would prefer having one at my house. So I don't want one that works but is programmed completely different.

Obviously all are copies and Chinese made. Are they all the same? Read the reviews, all say they are great, but the reviews are poorly written, so I doubt their reliability! Anyone that has recommendations will be appreciated.

Same here, looking to get one SLO's. Many of the reviews are comical, appear to be written by the same people selling them. I wish I had bought one from Amazon when they were available. Much easier to return if it was broke or poor quality.

I believe there are only 2 companys making the units in China ,so any place you buy from will be one or the other.. From what I have read the units are well made and operate just like the GM model..Do a search , there are a few threads on the subject that answer your questions......WW

I got mine from my good buddy who just bought it. As soon as I find out where and which company he bought it from I will post it here

Like I said before this thing is a great knock off ....or might be the company that makes it for GM maybe

Dave

And believe it or not they are very friendly to use. I had to program something on my dd, a 2000 Deville and my friend had one so I borrowed it. Now I have never used a scanner in my life, I just plugged it in, entered the vin and followed the prompts. After searching around a little I found what I needed and and it reprogrammed what I needed. When you go to a dealer they make a big deal about it when they use it like it is rocket science just to jack up their fee. Don't get me wrong I'm sure in the hands of a competent mechanic the Tech 2 can probably do all kinds of things that I wouldn't even know where to begin, but for straight stuff it's not at all hard to use.

Here are the Tech 2 instructions if you want to look them over, it appears both the US Tech 2, and the Chinese Tech 2, have the same instruction manuals......WW

I'm seriously looking at getting a Tech 2 from Ali Express site.
I just purchased a TPMS relearn tool from the same site, free shipping, and it arrived in about 2 weeks.
It works like a charm.

When I see a website like that aliexpress I just close the window as fast as possible and hope my virus scanners and malware software is up to the task. No way am I giving them a credit card. Might be OK but I'm not going there.

purchased one from aliexpress. will update with how well it works! ~250ish. The price of a good OBD2 scanner so hopefully its worth it!
