Default Wheel Spacers - Z06 Brakes

I want to get a set of Z06 brakes. I doubt I will track the car, I've kicked around the idea but not sure I want to make the investment to make a supercharged car track ready.

Plus I am going to pick up a ATS-V which will be my track toy.

That being said I need to replace my brakes and with the Z06 setup posted by X25 only being a few bucks more than doing my Z51 brakes I figure might as well upgrade. I am surprised how well the stock brakes have held up including some pretty hard running from high speeds.

I've had a ton of plans for the car including the Z06 body but with the mid engine car coming out and mine almost paid off I decided to leave it the way it is, put a DSC controller on it and hopefully that gets me a bit more traction to come close to what a Z06 wheel/tire package would until I replace it with whatever the C8 ends up being.

Says you need some small spacers.

What are the downsides to running spacers? In the Audi world its pretty much the norm and nobody says much about the downsides.

I just finished putting Z06 front brakes on my Z51 for heavy track use. I have the widebody kit and 18" rims, but even before the widebody conversion I ran 4mm spacers. With that small of a spacer the only concern is the number of turns you get when installing the lug nuts to ensure that you have enough grip.

If stud length if the only concern that is easy enough to fix.

Just went through this myself. If you run replica Z06 wheels no spacers are needed. Let me know if you need spacers, got a ton of them laying around now.

In Z06 size or in Z51 size?

Obviously Z06 wheel sizes will work, or are these just due to the design in a Z51 size clear?

Z51 size. Back clears without issue. Fronts clear with maybe 1-2mm. You can use a spacer if you want but I never track the car so thats good enough for me.

Another way to get around thread count is to use Extended Thread lug nuts. That way you don't need to pull the wheel bearings and install longer studs. The ET nuts have the proper conical seat but go through the wheel which means the thickness of the wheel provides allows the nut to engage more threads on the stud. They provide ~ .3 in (7.62 mm) more thread engagement.

I use Eibach wheel spacers on an off topic car and have had excellent results. Eibach is a German company that has TUV approval on all it's products.

They supply all new hardware (longer wheel bolts, studs, etc) with their spacers and they are all hub centric. They are a bit more than the cheap E Bay generic spacers, but well worth the money in my opinion.

Any particular vendor?

I assume most sell replicas but all the same manufacturer?

Hi,

Is this what you are looking for and looks like they have extended lugs as Bill mentioned.

Let me know if we can help, I can get you the full Z06 brake kit as well as the wheels and spacers.

I have an ATS V as well and LOVE it. I can do a killer 18" setup on them with R7s and I can also retro fit the CTS V gen 3 15" brakes on it. We offer performance springs with a stiffer progressive spring rate on top and have a full catless exhaust system that sounds epic vs. the OEM and I'm sitting close to 600whp on 93 at about 21psi.

I got the Z06 replicas from Bobs house of wheels and had great customer service. But yes, I believe all the vendors get them from the same place which is Factory Reproductions

Not to hijack the thread but would these work as ET lug nuts on a C7?

Wrong size. Need to be M12x1.50.

If you are looking for Black Lug Nuts you need to find something like this in Black: http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/...uts/page_1.htm

Volk (Ray's Wheels) make a M12x1.50 in black with 4 heptagon lug nuts for theft deterrence.
