Getting a z06 part 2
I'm definitely pulling the triggeron getting a z06. I got two i have in mind for sure. I like their prices their conditions. I just want read the z06 experienced owners' opinions on each and the why's. I'm trying to make the most educated decision.
The toss up is between the following.:
A 2006 z06, red, 2lz with 87000 miles. Bone stock car. Heads have not been addressed to the knowledge of the seller. Looks clean and car fax check out. Price is $27k
A 2008 z06, black, 2lz with 61000 miles. Bone stock as well, no knowledge of heads being addressed. Looks clean and good carfax. Price is $30k.
Thanks in advance

2008. An extra $3k for two years newer and 30k less miles is a no brainer. Transmission is moot, IMO.

Makes no difference, really. 2008 has TR6060 tranny, 06 has T56. I don't have a problem with my T56. 08 has upgraded interior parts over 06, but still not a big deal to me. Which one is in better shape, all over, interior, exterior, tires, more paperwork, and which one do you like best?
Color? As was said earlier, you could take the $3000 and address the heads.

Buy the color you want.
$3k fixes the heads and any other issues 06 may have.
6060 is not a better tranny, so don't fall for that trap.

Quick update:
I finally got the vin of the 2006 red car and ran a carfax (instead of just going by what the seller told me) and discovered 6 previous owners, a minor accident in 2009 and the clutch replaced back in September. I'm not sure how to feel about it but six owners makes me a bit nervous.

6 Owners would make me nervous too. The more owners, the bigger the chance one didn't properly maintain the car. When purchasing a used vehicle my priorities are always mileage and history. Just for reference, I recently purchase a 07 3LZ with 28,000 miles from the original owner, with all records, for $34,000 (Heads not addressed).

Would you be interested in a H/C/I (ported FAST & NW102)? Car is Yellow with black OEM wheels, 2008, 40K miles
And a new twin disc clutch.
I am next door to Dallas.

I personally, would not be too concerned about 6 previous owners. Some folks buy these cars, either don't drive them, or find out they are too much for them and sell them. My car had 5 previous owners, but I could not find any damage to the car whatsoever. Just look them over, inside and out, top and bottom. Any paperwork is a plus.

I discarded both of those cars. I'm now torn between these two :

A 2006 black z06 FULLY built for 1000RWHP+ with boost but without the powe adder installed and unknown current hp; and a 2007 silver Z06, fully built for NA making 578rwhp. I like them both almost the same and I'm trying to decide by friday. The silver one i negotiated a lower price but it's still slightly more than the black one. The black one, is non negotiable. They both check out with carfax and all kinds of paperwork for the builds.
