Default What did you give up to get yours!

It would seem that most of us generally have to give up something to get our expensive "Toy". Logic would dictate that there are many other avenues that we can persue if one has some cash. BUT....there remains that overwhelming TUG that tells us ...it's time to get that VETTE! Like many of my brothers (and sisters) I decided that it was time to bite the bullett and FINALLY get that Corvette that has always been haunting my Dreams!

I traded a really sweet Lexus coupe and a bunch of cash to get this Corvette that now lights my fire every time I squeeze into it! I have never looked back....because it is The ONE!

YOUR Thoughts!???

I gave up a little bit of free time; i.e., overtime became necessary to cover a few payments.

Didn't give up anything; have owned a few Corvettes over the years and they have all been 'toys'/third vehicles. As I started approaching retirement from the Air Force, I started planning on having our two existing vehicles paid and buying a new corvette as a retirement gift to myself. Spent a year deciding exactly wanted (color, trim, etc.). Fortunately, everything worked out, bought the Vette a little less then a year out from retiring and had all three of our vehicles were paid in full a few days before my actual retirement.

Just kidding.

I didn't give up anything really. I reached a point in life where I have more than enough to retire on, so I figured I may as well spend some of it while I'm still of sound mind and body.

The only problem is, I'll never (fully) retire until I'm physically unable to work. To me (and a lot of other entrepreneurs) our work is our life. I'm pumped, energetic, and have a reason to get out of bed in the morning when I have work. Otherwise, I turn into a bum.

Glad you're okay! I didn't really give up anything. I had a 01 Firebird before this that I ended up selling about a month after getting the 08 C6. I could've kept it, but I didn't want to pay insurance on two cars. Sometimes, I wish I kept it for certain scenarios (like when my C6 was having starting issues).

I sold a Street Rod to get my first Vette but that was back in the 80's. I traded a 07 Corvette Coupe to get the GS that I have now.

Had just bought a new 350 Z Grand Touring 2005. Got hit head on by a 3 time drunk driver after less than a year, not a DD.

Car was totaled and ordered a new one, tired of waiting 6 weeks and bought a used E46 M3 got tired of it quickly and bough the C6 2008 in 2007.

Been a keeper since.
