You could easily fit hundreds of CD's onto a USB stick and just keep that plugged in? A little time to rip the CD's but then you wouldn't need to find a place to mount a CD player.

I use windows media player to rip I think 320 Kbps MP3s, and dump em on a $20 64GB USB mem stick that is about the size of a modern automotive fuse. So small it's hard to remove the thing. Will hold your entire audio book collection orders of magnitude over. Next you'll wanna put some music on it. Once you figure it out it's easy. The gf has a similar setup in her car and can put stuff on it without bugging me...

Keep it simple and clean by using the USB stick.

Okilouielouie.
Many CD lovers have tried, and many have died...(wait, no, sorry).
Every time someone starts a thread like this, the thumbdrive boys come in and accuse the OP of being a Luddite.

There isn't anywhere in the car where a CD player will fit well, and few installers even want to try.

I looked at many solutions for a player, nothing was really workable.
Eventually, I just gave up and listen to the damn radio.

USB sticks? You guys are showing your age. I didn't even know they still made those things.

You can stream all the media you want from your phone.

Considering that many of us have hundreds of hours of recorded music we'd like a convenient way to be able to listen to what we already have - USB sticks allow us to do just that easily.

I don't know if it's possible on a C7, but when I added a CD player to my BMW back in the 80s, I mounted it under the driver's seat and routed the power and audio cables up through the center console to the radio. It worked great for the years I owned the car.

You all know, that some people still like Quality sound. and MP3 isn't it...

Just saying. Cd's played through even the AUX jack sound worlds better.

And forget about streaming bluetooth..That's as bad as FM radio.

Oh wait, never mind. My dealer installed a/c unit hangs there.

I guess I'm stuck with my Westinghouse radio. At least it's solid state.

The OP said he had books on CD. Transferring them to a USB is the perfect solution. If he doesn't want to do that, he can run a portable CD player.

As others have said, this question has been asked several times since the C7 was introduced. In that time, I have not seen a good integrated solution posted.

Hmm, perhaps for your home system but the C7 has so much road and tire noise (it is a sports car) the highs and lows come from outside!

I find with the 600+ "Oldies" on an SD card, Janis Joplin singing "Cry Baby" sounds just as good with the added subwoofer in my 3LT, just need to increase the volume to drown out other sounds!

I think once you get to 320 Kbps MP3 you'd near measuring gear to tell the difference, or maybe Fabio's home stereo. And let's face it, you can't really take advantage of a marginally better original CD with the Factory C7 anyway.

I do both. I have a staggering MP3 collection, so why stream stuff and waste my data plan or space on my phone when I can stuff thousands of songs on a stick the size of my thumbnail?
