My c5 seat is locked forward
So last night we had a heavy rainstorm i guess i must have a small leak because this afternoon my seat was pushed all the way forward and my battery dead. Well i jumped the battery but the seat wont return backwards. Im 6'4 and drive with it all the way back. Currently i cannot even sit in it to activate the clutch to drive it into my garage. There was a small pool of water in the back behind the seat. Do u think if i dry the pool up it will eventually re engage? I hear clicking when i activate the switch but no movement. Any suggestions appreciated

Well basically is there a manual override for the seat? I just need it to go all the way back. Am i going to have to take the seat out to do that or is there an easier way to manually release it.

The passenger seat is mechanical. Does anyone think if i squeeze in and activate the switch and push real hard it might work? Well ill be tackling this issue in the morning. Would anyone be willing to pm me your number so i can call you if i get stuck and need advice??

This may or may not be your issue, but thought I would throw it out for you to look at.

Remove the seat
With it all the way forward you should have access to all 4 15mm bolts holding the seat in. Just remove it and drive it into the garage sitting on the floor.
Could it be a stuck limit switch preventing it from moving back? Either way the seat will have to be removed to fix it and it only takes a couple of minutes.

Once the seat it out, you could throw in a couple pillows and drive the car in, or you might be able to call rent-a-dwarf to pull it in for you until you can remove it?

Seats are gear driven, they use a worm gear and a mno block.
The worm gear is driven by a geared motor. There is no disengage. The only thing that should get wet, with this issue is the power connection which is hung up under the seat. Nothing comes in contact with the rugs. However, if the seat was ever out. It's very possible. They power feed may not be hung up properly and just rest on the floor. If seen this in the field. The motor, Gears SEAT SWTCH ARE All HIGH AND dry. The seat has to come out. You said you hear a click. Your problem could very well be mechanical.
Good luck..
