So last year I bought my C5 and it came with the c6 z06 replica wheels in that shiny chrome. That's a bit much for me, reminds me of a hot wheel. So I painted them with a rustoleum hammered black product. Well to me, it's not dark enough, turned out more gray. I'd prefer a darker black. I saw these the other day

I love them, I love the darker black and the red stripe and was ready to purchase but it seems as though these wheels are an inch less in width. Had me a bit concerned, not sure how much that matters. But now I'm looking at going wider in the back. I love the wide meaty look. But I don't know what would be best. What size rims and tires should I go with? There are some mods done to the car, it's a bit quicker than stock. Headers, ram air, exhaust, nothing too crazy. My current tires are getting pretty smooth and I need to upgrade for sure.

I think 18s in the front and 19s in the rear look best but I'm biased

An 18/19 setup would go well with your car and you would have more choices in tires.

Hey 18's and 19's sound great, not gonna lie. What would/could be any potential drawbacks to going with 18 and 19? Other than price. Also what tire size should I look to go with for these?

Lots of options on tire size depending on rim width. I went the conservative route, using base C6 18/19 rim widths and tire sizes. Got everything as a ready to bolt on package, including new TPMS sensors (important) and balanced, from Tire Rack. No drawbacks as far as I can tell - and they look much better!

Quite a few people have bought take off C6 Z06 rims and bought tires to match. A lot of rubber on the road with that option. Whatever you do, remember that after about 10 years your TMPS sensors are on borrowed time - easier to replace when you get new tires mounted as against having to pay to have the tires dismounted, new sensors installed, remounting, balancing, etc., at a later date.

Hankook Ventus V12 EVO-2's if your going street tires. Best street tires I've ever had

Haha yeah actually the Evo 2's are the ones I'll be going with. I have the ventus v12's and I like those and the way they feel. I guess I was wondering more on tire size

Rougher ride due to less sidewall if you keep the same overall diameter. Slightly lower fuel economy and slower acceleration due to higher wheel weight. Differences should not be that significant though.

I'm sorry, I didn't look close enough at your question here is the link to a thread I started way back when I got my first set of wheels. They are 18-19 in the typical aftermarket offsets of 18x9.5 fronts, and 19x10 rears. Tires are Hankook EVO-1's, and the sizes are 285/35-19 for the rears, and 265/35-18 for the fronts My car is SIGNIFICANTLY crazier now lol, but these looked great on my car when it was close to stock! The big boy rims are way expensive, but they are worth saving for.

I did notice a jump in how athletic the car felt when I went from replicas, to forged one piece monoblocks, but I also saved for a year as well I noticed almost no difference in performance with my replicas over the stock wheels. You end up losing tire weight over the run craps, and it's farther out on the wheel, making it the best kind of weight to lose as well. Also, you can go all the way down to a 30 series sidewall, with a standard tire, before it STARTS to become as harsh as the stock run flats
