Baffled ventilation breather caps
Maybe this sounds better, LOL,LOL.
Do the internally baffled caps work, like the mr gasket 2054 and 2056. They have a flapper like cover over the "hole" to prevent oil from being pulled in to the caps ?????
thanks.
Frank.

I am completely baffled as to the nature of your inquiry?

Breather caps
Well, some / most valve covers have build in baffles under the hole for the breather caps and pcv valve to prevent the oil from plashing in to the breather cap. If there is no room for the baffle because of for instance running stud girdles, a baffle is put in the cap it self. I wondered if those kind do a good job.

Yes, they do need some baffles to prevent excess oil from coming out, unless there is baffling in the valve cover

Yes,
i don't have room for valve cover baffles with my stud girdles and can't go higher with valve covers because of the vacuum power brake cannister.
So wondered if anyone had experience with the baffled breather caps.

Had a similar problem on M/T valve covers when using roller rockers.
I used an internally baffled Chrysler style breather cap Stant # BSO-75 (from the 70s 440 cu in Chrysler) with a nipple on it. I put a short piece of heater hose and a PVC valve in the hose. It does still stick down in the valve cover approx. 3/16". Thinking the baffle plate may stick down about the same.
Don't have pictures right now, but can get some if you can live with the setup.
If you are running a 64 block with the draft tube hole at the back of the block, you can adapt a PVC valve in that hole and put a vented fill cap on the fill tube at the front of the intake. Just an option. Never did it, but have seen it.

Thanks, I'm running a 383 stroker with stud girdles.
There is room for a baffled breather cap wirh shallow penetration.
thanks again for your input.
