Viper Alarm - Where is it?
Hey Guys,
My 94 came with a Viper alarm and its WAY too sensitive... Closing the hood or closing the door sets it off in my garage and its driving me nuts.
I don't know what model of alarm I have - so could anyone tell me:
1) Where to look in the car to find the alarm system
2) How to raise the sensitivity
If you need the model to tell me how to change the setting, Ill post once someone tells me where to look for it...
Thanks!

It's probably under the dash somewhere, maybe close to the kick panel, otherwise it's usually hidden in with oem harnesses. Usually there's a set of potentiometers on the unit to adjust sensitivity.
Good luck.

My 95 I located the base unit with adjustment settings under the center console. Once you find it, how to adjust the sensitivity will be self-evident. Aftermarket alarms suck, but it still works and are my only FOB's so until the inevitable; it stays.

I found one on the passenger's side. Had to drop the lower panel to see it.
I've also found one in the cubbies behind the seats after pulling the plastic bucket out.

It would drain the battery in 2 days, didn't lock the doors (because it was wired wrong), and one day would not disable. I was not happy sitting in my parking lot at work with the alarm going off, horn and lights flashing, while all my co-workers walked by. Its gone now, the battery never dies, and I purchased new FOBs that work great! Make sure to notice the great workmanship, the speaker wire to the relays, the home electrical connectors...it was some great stuff!

The one in my 96 is above the carpet panel under the steering column. The adjustment is in the clear plastic part at the lower right in the picture posted by jvettman

A quick way to disable it is, with the door open push lock-unlock-lock and that should put the alarm in valet mode. The viper alarm should be under the drivers side hush panel.

Is there another trick to disabling it? Do I need to remove that entire panel under my steering wheel? Im afraid everything will just fall out... Best Buy said they will charge me $50 to find and disable the system and install that kill button.
Thanks for all the replies!!!
