Default Fob key issue

Has anyone tried to place there extra FOB in a Mylar bag or even an Aluminum case to prevent interference with the primary " the one your using" key?? When we take our extra key it interferes with the seat positions and I don't think anything else ?

If you're just taking it to have a "just in case" spare, remove the battery.

I bought a cheap rfid case at Target to keep mine in. I had trouble with the proximity to the garage where I keep the spare. Works great.

Best way. It doesn't do squat unless it's inserted in the slot and then the car starts.

Although, I've never had an issue with the RKEs fighting each other.

May need Mu-metal! (Mu-metal is a nickel–iron soft magnetic alloy with very high permeability, which is used for shielding sensitive electronic equipment against static or low-frequency magnetic fields. It has several compositions. One such composition is approximately 77% nickel, 16% iron, 5% copper and 2% chromium or molybdenum.)

Recall responding to a letter to the editor in Street Rodder mag where a person with a heart pace maker bought a dentist lead shield and wore it when welding! Had to write and tell him lead has little if any effective in blocking electromagnetic radiation!

We used Mu-metal to shield our CNC cables against high frequency starts in our plasma torches on our cutting machines. Not cheap but it works!

If the extra key causes issues, then maybe you shouldn't take the extra key.

Or is that too obvious?

If both keys are in the car will it not default to #1? I don't know. Just wondering.
If it does set the seats to 1 and use #1 key.

The car takes whichever fob connects first.

It's a case that blocks the signal from the fob. It's better looking than wrapping it in foil, but does the same thing.
