Hello from the Carolinas
Hey Everyone, my name is Reese.
I registered a year or two ago and mainly used the forum for searches and information on corvettes. Now I'm trying to get familiar with the CF community and realized I haven't posted anything. So I'm stating with the intro. I am from Greenville SC and now in the Charlotte NC area. My username is in relation of the joke in "Super Troopers" hopefully no one finds it offensive..
Growing up, my dad's garage was filled with Chevrolet bow-ties. Having a 72 stingray, 96 LT4 6-spd, and 2002 6-spd. When I finally was able to drive I ended up in a mustang we had. It was handed to me after my sister drove it through high school. I continued to trade up through a few mustangs over the years and ended up in an 03 SVT cobra. Needless to say my dad and his vette buddies gave me a hard time for being in a ford. That being said, being around vettes and mustangs I became an enthusiast of all cars. If it has 4 wheels and is fun to drive it will have my interest.
My father passed away in 2015 and left me his 2002 electron blue C5. He is the reason I have a passion for cars and corvettes in general. He used to be on here as well (72greyhound) Not exactly sure how active he was, but would let me use his account when doing research. The vette is pretty much stock except for corsa "touring" exhaust. I have some plans for this car's future, including a grandsport paint job. You know the blue with the white stripe and 2 red hashers on the driver side fender and some red interior. My dad loved that paint scheme. His computer background was always a corvette with that paint scheme. From when it was only on the C4 to when the C5 came out all the way to the C7. He'd find somebody that did the paint on the different generations and use their pics on the computer. So I feel it would be a great addition to remember him. That will probably be my first project I encounter along with the basic tune-up necessities as they arise.
I know this might be a little long for an intro thread. But it felt good to reminisce while typing this up and actually put a smile on my face while thinking about my dad. Thanks for the time and reading this thread. Hope to talk to y'all on the forums soon!!
