I am paying for it today
I did a somewhat thorough detail on my 2015 coupe yesterday. I washed then clay bar with mother's california gold. I tried to use a scratch and swirl remover, Meguiar's scratch X2.0, but I couldn't get rid of the swirls by hand. I am going to have to buy a buffer and do it right. Washed the car again, then I put a coat of wax on her (Meguiars NXT Tech 2.0 wax) and boy does it shine!!!! Here are some pics. But I am feeling the pain of the 5 hours I spent working on her today. I can hardly move. Guess I am out of shape and getting too damn old. LOL

Holy hell! That ain't a color! It's black and that's a commitment! Been there; done that. A black car is for people that hate themselves!
Get the orbital buffer. It'll save your old *** from a lot of pain!

As a black car victim myself, you have my sympathies. I also recommend that you buy a good buffer and chose your polishes carefully. You should check out Griots - they have excellent products for fixing my black car and lots of good information.
Enjoy that beautiful car. Nothing is as pretty as a black car - for at least the first 15 minutes after you wash it .

Don't stress over swirl marks, just go over the car as time permits and they will just go away. Heck, no one other than you really cares anyway. Your car does look nice, now get out and put some miles on it. Stop fussing with the paint.

Thanks my forum brothers and sisters!!!!! I plan on getting an orbital buffer very soon. Nothing looks better than a freshly waxed and buffed out black vette. I have gotten a lot of compliments on her. I have been driving it. I have put 2,000 miles on her since I got her about a month ago. Planning a road trip the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles,LA tomorrow.

I love black sports cars (am a sucker for), and after owning 3 of them over the last 17 or so years. I feel I probably spent about 12 of those years fussing with, polishing, waxing, or doing something to the paint on those cars.
I remember asking my wife about our youngest child. Last time I remember seeing her she was 16, and heading out to the prom. Wife said she graduated high school, went to college, then graduated from medical school while you were fussing around into the garage with those black cars.
Long story short.
If I ever fall victim to Black again. I will certainly Ceramic Coat that puppy, and spend a little less time in the garage buffing a car.

Why does the paint look so dull? Did you wrap it in flat black? Just kidding; it looks awesome! I did almost the same last week. 3 hour wash/detail; it took a full week b4 I could bend over..
NICE VETTE!!

I quit looking for scratches a long time ago...about the same time I quit worrying about a few rock chips on the rocker panels.
Can't see them from this distance anyway...
